I have been challenged to meet BOTH the needs and interests of students due to a number of factors; ability or grade level, gender, emotional needs, and more. However, thanks to this project I have been able to really get the students not only interested, but excited to work collaboratively together. The students used to be silent. It was hard to get them to interact with each other and/or share information without pulling a few teeth. After engaging in team building activities, solve puzzles or codes together they are so much more connected with each other. The connectedness has also allowed the classroom culture to be warm and welcoming. The students want to come to school and are eager to find out what they are learning. I know for sure it is because of the material I was able to get purchased with this project. Both my students and I are forever grateful!","fullyFundedDate":1746786881905,"projectUrl":"project/meeting-the-needs-interests-of-all/9315074/","projectTitle":"Meeting the Needs & Interests of ALL","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bobbins","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp305952_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y322&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1690065692112","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-bobbins"},{"teacherId":305952,"projectId":9315050,"letterContent":"Words cannot express the gratitude that I have when I think about the generosity that you had by donating to this project. Teaching students in the classroom today can be quite challenging for a number of reasons. A teacher should not have to worry about not having the necessary material to meet the needs of all of their students due to lack of funding. Yet, I was faced with that challenge in addition to having students with skills ranging from kindergarten through eighth grade. However, your generous donation changed all of that. I have been able to find classroom material that allows ALL students to engage in whole group conversation, work collaboratively with their classmates, and even complete the work independently. I have also been able to find material that complements the standards that are being taught in a format that is \"on fleek\" as the students would say. That simply means that it is FUN and they are enjoying the learning. ALL students are feeling included, not left behind, and APART of the community of learners. Your donation allowed me to take things to the next level.","fullyFundedDate":1746786881742,"projectUrl":"project/meeting-the-needs-of-all-students/9315050/","projectTitle":"Meeting the Needs of ALL Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bobbins","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp305952_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y322&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1690065692112","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-bobbins"},{"teacherId":303704,"projectId":8007787,"letterContent":"I apologize for the delay in sharing how we used our floor pillows, but the district closed our school last year and time truly slipped away from me.\r\n\r\nHowever, now I'm at a new middle school where I have been weeding thousands of old library books, while at the same time trying to make the space welcoming and kid-friendly. I brought over the blue floor pillows, and sure enough, the kids are using them to find a small corner of the library where they can relax and read. Middle schoolers want so much to be 'big', but as soon as they are reminded that they can be the kids they are, you can see the joy in their eyes.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has supported two communities of learners. In addition, the Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards allowed me to find material that was not only on the different topics, but also had content that was differentiated based on the level the student was performing at such as on, below, and above the standard. All the teachers shared their stories about the young people in their classroom needing help learning more about their emotions and regulating themselves when they become frustrated, angry, unsure of themselves, and overwhelmed. Through your generosity, we gave them many tools to bring back to their classrooms for their students to learn more social skills and better coping strategies when they experience big emotions. The huggable animals were a huge draw, along with the sensory toys and books the students could look at and read repeatedly. The feelings chart, puzzles, and the face dough mats to illustrate feelings were a big hit too!
