They rushed over to touch and try everything. One student who usually has trouble focusing sat quietly moving a marble through the maze mat with a big smile. Another student calmed down right away while flipping the sequins back and forth before starting reading.\r\n\r\nWe use these new materials every day. The textured floor mats give students a chance to move and explore different feelings with their feet. After using them, students come back ready to learn. The magnetic tiles are a favorite for group play—students build towers and shapes together while practicing teamwork. The sequin fabric is in our calming corner, and students go there to relax and reset. The marble maze mats are small enough for desks, so students grab them when they need help staying calm and focused.\r\n\r\nThe first reactions were full of joy. Students asked, \"Can we use these every day?\" and didn't want to put them away. They learned quickly to share and take turns, which gave them extra practice with social skills.\r\n\r\nThe sensory tools are also helping us practice self-regulation, where students learn to notice their feelings and choose a tool that helps them calm down.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, my students now have more ways to learn, focus, and feel successful every day.","fullyFundedDate":1746785356625,"projectUrl":"project/support-sensory-success-help-our-studen/9163434/","projectTitle":"Support Sensory Success: Help Our Students Thrive!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Juarez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9849921_orig.png?crop=714,714,x0,y69&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1732768443553","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9849921"},{"teacherId":9849921,"projectId":8975077,"letterContent":"When the new special education materials arrived, my students' faces lit up. Your kindness is appreciated. \r\n\r\nOur school year is just beginning to get into the full swing of lessons and classroom activities. We have been spending time introducing classroom routines and expectations with our classroom iPads. Each student in our classroom has their own iPad to use throughout their school day. These iPads allow students to have access to information, books to read, learning tools and different modes to share their understanding of classroom instruction. The students enjoy using the iPads to enhance their learning in the classroom. \r\n\r\nHaving the opportunity to use the Logitech Pencils that were so generously donated will allow students to have a new and different way to help share their understanding on the iPad. The opportunity to use the pencil will allow them to specifically mark items within digital text and to draw to illustrate a concept or idea. Most students within my classroom have not had the opportunity to use such an item and their eyes lit up with excitement when shown the new tools. \r\n\r\nOur first activity was to learn how the pencil worked and how to use it with the iPad. We then used the pencil to illustrate our learning for Social Studies and how the student could be a good citizen in the community. It was a great way to let the students try out the tool and start becoming comfortable using it. We will begin using it more throughout our lessons in math and reading as we continue through the year. Once again, thank you for your extreme generosity to make this project possible.","fullyFundedDate":1746783996618,"projectUrl":"project/markup-your-ipad-increasing-student-en/9307795/","projectTitle":"Markup Your iPad - Increasing Student Engagement","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Russman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10010974"},{"teacherId":9870080,"projectId":8999393,"letterContent":"Words can't describe how grateful myself and my 40 5th graders were for your extremely generous donation. The new doodle boards have already made a big impact on my students' learning. During math lessons, they use the boards to draw shapes, solve simple equations, and practice counting by creating visual representations. This hands-on activity provides immediate visual feedback, allowing me to assess their understanding quickly and adjust my teaching to meet their needs. It's been amazing to see how engaged they are with the material when they can interact with it visually.\r\n\r\nIn our reading and phonics lessons, the boards have become an invaluable tool. Students use them to practice letter sounds and spelling, drawing letters and words in both Spanish and English. This interactive method helps reinforce letter recognition and phonetic skills, making it especially effective for our early bilingual learners. Watching them use the boards to collaborate and share ideas with their peers in Spanish has been inspiring—it's helping them build both language and social skills while staying engaged in their learning.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we plan to use the doodle boards to deepen our exploration of language and math concepts. In the coming weeks, students will continue to work on language development through word-building activities and interactive math problems. I'm excited to see how these boards will help them visualize and solidify their learning, creating a more interactive and collaborative classroom environment.
