Because of your support, my students now have fun and engaging options for indoor recess, as well as exciting prizes to motivate them. These resources have already made a big difference in our classroom atmosphere, turning rainy or cold days into moments of laughter, teamwork, and creativity. The indoor games have helped students build friendships and learn collaboration skills while staying active inside.\r\n\r\nWhen the new materials were introduced at the start of the school year, the students were absolutely thrilled. Their excitement was contagious as they explored the new indoor recess equipment and learned about the prizes they could earn. The pens and other rewards have quickly become favorite incentives that encourage positive behavior and academic effort. Students are working hard to meet goals and love being recognized with these special prizes.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we will continue using these materials to foster teamwork, creativity, and responsibility. Students are currently participating in a \"Responsibility Challenge,\" where they earn points toward classroom rewards by showing kindness, responsibility, and respectfulness. These resources have helped us build not only stronger learners but also more caring classmates. My students and I are using the new resources each week as they begin to meet goals! They were SO excited when I showed them how the desk pets worked and are extremely eager to start earning the various items, as they meet their goals! \r\n\r\nEach student gets to pick out a desk pet to start the year. This is such a fun time and the kids absolutely LOVE the variety of choices to pick from! Next, as they begin to meet their goals, they get to pick different items that their desk pet might need. For example, a blanket (piece of felt), a couch (pencil grip), lunch (little erasers), fruit (little erasers), dessert (little erasers), friends (smaller pet erasers), etc.\r\n\r\nThis helps increase their motivation to meet goals throughout the year. At the end of the year, students get to take their desk pet home! Students get to show their families and explain that each piece represents a goal that they met! So, thank you so much for the opportunity to continue to provide such a fun way to motivate students to meet their goals!!!","fullyFundedDate":1750253173613,"projectUrl":"project/desk-pets-and-more/9239298/","projectTitle":"Desk Pets and More!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mueller","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9721350"},{"teacherId":9721350,"projectId":8726614,"letterContent":"My students in the after school program are using their dress for success outfits several times per month! My students were so excited to see the new items come through. They have really taken to the challenge of reading chapter books and have really enjoyed the new classroom books. I was so surprised at how many students have read more then three already this year. I like seeing them read around the room in our new comfy seating. We also recieved items to help bring our reading curriculum to life. We have used the ear and eye model to help better understand how they work. We will very soon be using the solar system model as we dive into learning about the universe.\r\n\r\nI probably have to say that the best thing about getting our project funded has been to see the creativity of my third graders. You gifted us a bunch of items that they use to create. We use them every morning to get our brains moving. The kids are also so eager to get them out during indoor recess. I have seen some amazing things being built. Some examples are a rocket ship, drone, a house, animals, and many new inventions. I, of course am so apprieciative of the organizational bins. \r\n\r\nThank you again from all of us in Mrs. Anderson's third grade class!","fullyFundedDate":1732718995828,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-makes-learning-come-alive/8768559/","projectTitle":"Hands-on Makes Learning Come Alive!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Anderson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9744258_orig.jpg?crop=2281,2281,x38,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1727470383522","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9744258"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_79188","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":352,"numTeachers":22,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":22,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":70,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"16.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":50.0,"schoolId":79188,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Jefferson Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Jefferson Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/nebraska/grand-island-public-schools/jefferson-elementary-school/79188"}
