I was able to provide every kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade classroom with their own tool kits for the new year. As the years go on students can feel comfortable and confident through different years and classrooms. Having the same tools will help students focus on the skills they are learning. These tool kits are also unique because they are focused on Science of Reading skills which our school made the switch to two years ago so having more SOR resources is very helpful. The creator of the kit has so many freebie options to go with the tools that every classroom is able to implement these tools without further costs. Fulfilling my request for a few reading comprehension games, a class set of mini-erasers, composition books, and quality thematic literature to further our wish to read more is so amazing. My third-grade students and I are incredibly grateful for the materials we have been gifted. Your donation, generosity, and kindness take me back. \r\n\r\nUnveiling the contents of our box is one of the most exciting memories of the school year. We immediately distributed the class set of mini-erasers for our whiteboard work and made sure everyone was equipped with a new one. They even magnetically attach to our desks! Students use this item every day and are now more likely to tackle some of their \"scratch work\" for math problem-solving due to simply having this convenience. So, I thank you very much for funding these mini-erasers. They have made such a difference in motivating my students!\r\n\r\nThe games were most recently used during our recent cold spell from mid-January to mid-February. These activities are easy to prep and set out because they are in small activity trays with everything the kids need. During Christmastime, they used the glittery pony beads to decorate christmas trees inside those trays! These trays were part of my classroom order that you helped provide to us! \r\n\r\nEvery day, kids make choices for choice time and clip their name on a center. One of the most popular and regularly visited is playdough or sand! We absolutely love having kinetic sand in the class. It is easy to form, and easy to build with but doesn't make a big mess or leave residue on the table! Kids are working on their muscle strength in their hands when they shape sand and dough into balls, snakes, towers, or make \"cakes.\" These skills and the time spent with dough really is a crucial early step in developing their sensory perceptions and fine motor skills. \r\n\r\nMost people see laminating sheets as just a tool for making something \"look nice\" but in the early childhood classroom, laminating is a way to make a paper, or template into a reusable canvas for kids to work on letters, numbers and even make drops on a sheet to cover a space using droppers and pipettes. Lamination sheets are literally invaluable to us and so we thank you for making them available to us through this project getting funded!","fullyFundedDate":1730421544887,"projectUrl":"project/early-development-through-process-art/8681302/","projectTitle":"Early Development through Process Art","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Warner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9274590_orig.jpg?crop=1960,1960,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1694635867508","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrskwarner"},{"teacherId":9274590,"projectId":8808441,"letterContent":"Thank you for giving us quality books to read in our classroom! There's nothing better than a book that kids ask for every chance they get! In \"Mrs. McNosh\" we heard rhymes and predicted what she would be hanging up next! Who knew she would end up hanging up her lamp and chair?! In \"Animals Should Definitely Not Wear Clothing,\" we talked about why it would be difficult for some animals to wear pants or hats! That story also inspired us to create new clothing patterns and design our own shirts! \r\n\r\nMore of these books that you provided to our room will be read as we move through our studies this year.
