We sorted them by level, and the students immediately began choosing stories to read during small groups and independent reading time. Their excitement was contagious! One student proudly said, \"This book is just right for me!\" while another eagerly showed a friend a story about animals she couldn't wait to read.\r\n\r\nSince then, these leveled readers have become essential to our daily reading groups. My younger students are using them to build foundational skills—recognizing letters, decoding words, and developing early fluency—while my older students are diving into more complex texts that challenge their comprehension and vocabulary. Books that meet each student right where they are have made an enormous difference. I've seen reluctant readers become more confident and motivated, and students are now eager to share what they're reading with their peers.\r\n\r\nOur next goal is to continue growing as independent readers. We'll use the leveled books for partner reading, fluency practice, and comprehension discussions to strengthen understanding and expression. These resources have opened many doors for my students, allowing them to experience the joy of reading success at their own pace. Thank you for helping make this possible—your generosity has transformed our classroom into a place where every child can see themselves as readers.","fullyFundedDate":1755692766732,"projectUrl":"project/reading-to-succeed-leveled-books-for-gr/9269492/","projectTitle":"Reading to Succeed: Leveled Books for Growing Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kinna","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3493990"},{"teacherId":7186155,"projectId":8683096,"letterContent":"This has been such fun. The students are using the materials so much. They love the carpet squares and try finding the one that matches our letter for the week. They also match them with the zoo phonics buddy that goes with that letter. They have even been playing games with them by laying them all out in ABC order while singing the ABC Song and than using them as a l little pathway to sing the song. They also call out and move to the letters in their names. It has really helped with letter recognition and just gets them thinking about the letters more. The tubs of items for the letters of the alphabet have been amazing too. We had some very old ones that the pieces in the tubs were mostly missing or broken. They have really enjoyed looking and using the new ones.\r\n\r\nWe also chose to use the carpet squares for circle time. They get to have their own spot to sit on and that has been helping with student placement so that they are more attentive as well as being respectful of the spaces of others. At this age they need reminders it it is helpful for the visual reminder and less from me. It gets them to self monitor more and increases their independence.\r\n\r\nThe dinosaurs for math have gotten their use as well. They love these and it helps with the one on counting. I can 't thank you both enough for helping me get these amazing tools to my class. Thanks to your kindness, our classroom has been gifted incredible resources that have already made an impact on my students' learning.\r\nThe ELA games you provided have been an absolute hit! My students are having so much fun while reviewing important reading and language concepts. The engaging, hands-on nature of the games has made learning more enjoyable and effective. It's been such a joy to see them excited to practice their skills, and I can already see a positive impact on their understanding and retention of key concepts. \r\nAdditionally, the Daily Sentence books have been invaluable in helping my students review and practice grammar. These books have offered us wonderful opportunities to dive deeper into language skills and ensure that students are gaining a solid foundation in grammar. They've provided consistent practice and have become an essential part of our daily routine, allowing each student to focus on improving their writing and sentence structure.\r\nThank you for providing these learning tools for my students. Your support has made a real difference in their educational experience, and I can't express how much I appreciate the opportunity you've given us.
