We kicked things off with a slideshow featuring a book about thankfulness, followed by a discussion on what it means to be thankful and why it's important. We even had some brave volunteers share what they are thankful for!\r\n\r\nNext, the slideshow guided families through creating their own Thankful Turkey Hats — and the kids absolutely LOVED it! The horseshoe-shaped plastic table created the perfect space for small group learning and allowed me to provide direct, hands-on assistance to each child. Because the table is more narrow and shaped for accessibility, I'm now able to support my students more effectively during lessons and activities, especially those who need extra help with fine motor skills and following directions. This table has truly transformed our learning environment by making it more inclusive and interactive.\r\n\r\nThe magnetic letters, numbers, and hands-on manipulatives have quickly become favorites during our center rotations. One memorable moment happened during a literacy center when a student who usually needs a lot of prompting began independently identifying letters and matching them to their sounds using the magnetic letters. The bright colors and tactile nature of the materials really captured their attention and helped make abstract concepts more concrete. These tools not only support early literacy and math development but also encourage communication, social play, and independence.\r\n\r\nWith these new resources, we're now diving deeper into our pre-reading and pre-math curriculum. The manipulatives are being used for sorting, counting, and letter recognition games that keep students engaged and moving. Our next step is a unit on number sense, where students will build simple number sentences using the plastic numbers and counters. Thank you so much for your generous support in making all of this possible. Your donation has created meaningful learning opportunities that will continue to make a difference every single day.
