We just finished our first round of rocks and will be starting a new cycle soon! The students we're really interested in the changes in shape and size after weeks of tumbling. The students were engaged and full of laughter by the end of the book.\r\n\r\nThe integration of \"The Money Club workbook\", \"Understanding Money\" book, and, \"Legacy Card Game\" into special education programs significantly enhanced financial literacy for my students with diverse learning needs. These interactive, hands-on tools were designed to break down complex financial concepts into digestible, engaging formats that promote active participation and understanding. \r\n\r\n\"The Money Club workbook\" supported individualized learning by offering step-by-step guidance through financial concepts such as budgeting, saving, and understanding financial goals. It provided visual aids, simplified language, and practical exercises that were tailored to students who may struggle with traditional instruction methods. \r\n\r\n\"Understanding Money\" book provided activities, lessons, and discussion questions designed to form a solid foundation on money principles in a fun and easy-to-understand way.\r\n\r\n\"Legacy Card Game\" fostered collaborative learning and decision-making skills while encouraging students to think critically about long-term financial planning and consequences. The game introduced students to various scenarios, such as investing, debt management, and wealth-building strategies, in a playful and less intimidating manner, which was crucial for students who benefit from learning through play.\r\n\r\nTogether, these tools created a supportive learning environment where students could gain confidence in managing their finances, build essential life skills, and develop independence. The experiential nature of these resources allowed my students in special education to internalize concepts through repetition, social interaction, and active decision-making. This approach not only fostered financial literacy but also nurtured essential life skills such as communication, teamwork, and critical thinking.\r\n\r\nEven though we did not utilize the \"Making Money Work\" book for teens this time, it will be a valuable resource in future years to enhance skills learned this year or to meet the needs of students who are ready for more individual responsibility to further expand their financial literacy by reading a text designed for teens.","fullyFundedDate":1726680863000,"projectUrl":"project/financial-literacy-for-diverse-learners/8781529/","projectTitle":"Financial Literacy for Diverse Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Grigsby","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1327106"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_78542","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":148,"numTeachers":6,"percentFrplEligible":73,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":89,"percentIndigenous":2,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"24.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":71.6,"schoolId":78542,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lincoln Public School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lincoln Public School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/montana/lincoln-public-school-district-38/lincoln-public-school/78542"}
