When the materials first arrived, my students' eyes lit up—they were immediately curious and eager to explore. We set up the hydroponic system together, and the students were fascinated to see how plants could grow without soil. It quickly became more than just a science project; it turned into a hands-on lesson about biology, sustainability, and responsibility as they cared for the plants each day.\r\n\r\nSince then, my students have been actively using the hydroponics system in multiple ways. We've conducted experiments on plant growth, tested different nutrients, and measured water and light conditions. One particular moment that stood out was when a group of students observed the first roots appearing in the water—they were so proud, and it sparked lively discussions about how plants absorb nutrients and how technology can help us grow food more efficiently.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, we are able to take our learning further. Next, my students will explore the science behind ecosystems and sustainable agriculture, connecting what they see in our hydroponics garden to real-world issues like food security and environmental stewardship. Your generosity has not only brought science to life in our classroom but also inspired curiosity, teamwork, and a sense of wonder in each of my students. We are truly grateful for your support and can't wait to continue growing together—both our plants and our knowledge.","fullyFundedDate":1767203521999,"projectUrl":"project/growing-minds-building-our-classroom-hy/9954206/","projectTitle":"Growing Minds: Building Our Classroom Hydroponic Garden","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ulrich","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9131477_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722619660760","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9131477"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_78506","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":36,"numTeachers":4,"percentFrplEligible":69,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":100,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"9.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":66.7,"schoolId":78506,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Geyser School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Geyser School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/montana/geyser-school-district-58/geyser-school/78506"}
