The magnetic graphing board has made plotting points and understanding coordinate planes much easier in algebra, while the magnetic markers and whiteboard markers have helped students visualize equations more clearly. Their excitement was evident when we first unboxed these tools, and they now actively participate in lessons with more confidence.\r\n\r\nIn physics, the wind-up toys have been a fun and effective way to explore motion and energy transfer. Students recently used them to analyze speed, acceleration, and friction, making abstract concepts more tangible. These hands-on resources have benefited both middle and high school students in Geyser, fostering a deeper understanding of key concepts.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, these materials will continue to play a vital role in our lessons, especially as we dive deeper into graphing, linear equations, and physics experiments. Thank you for your generosity—your support has truly transformed our classroom and made learning more interactive and enjoyable for my students!","fullyFundedDate":1734722768091,"projectUrl":"project/magnets-and-graphs-making-math-hands-on/8822215/","projectTitle":"Magnets and Graphs: Making Math Hands-On and Interactive","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ulrich","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9131477_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722619660760","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9131477"},{"teacherId":9692694,"projectId":8681480,"letterContent":"My students have not only have had a lot of fun and enjoyed the 3D printer that I received, but they also have learned so much. For one, with the 3D printer it is all about designing. Designing the project involves initiation, problem solving, time management, sustained attention, working memory, and following multiple step instructions. All of these skills are what every high school and middle school student struggles with on a day to day basis. The importance of taking the time to plan a project ensures that these executive function skills are being challenged. \r\n\r\nBeing able to read technical literature, and use good math skills to asses the materials needed was a challenge for my students. They all just want to jump in and make something!
