In previous years NHD has been on a volunteer basis with my students, but this year the entire 7-12th grade is participating. Additionally, I worked with the sixth grade teacher to have his students participate as well.\r\n\r\nAll the students will be having a showcase of their project at the end of February and then the majority are choosing to compete at the Regional level. From there we will hopefully have students earn their way to State. \r\n\r\nNational History Day not only has the students learning about an event older than 25 years old, but how to construct a historical argument with evidence to support it. They have expanded their research skills, analysing the information to lay it out in a comprehensive format to better enforce and support their argument. They have chosen topics of Montana and US History and feel proud of their accomplishments.","fullyFundedDate":1755448344806,"projectUrl":"project/research-and-exhibit-creation-for-nation/9575883/","projectTitle":"Research and Exhibit Creation for National History Day","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Zuchowski","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9716808_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y154&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1725989031084","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-zuchowski-history-is-alive"},{"teacherId":9716808,"projectId":9367421,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donations! It has been a fun and educational time for the students to research and learn about the various gods and goddesses of the pantheons from the ancient world. They are working on creating projects on a theme base, like \"god of war\" and focusing on the gods/goddesses across the pantheons like Greeks, Norse, Egyptian, Celtic. They will then share out (public speaking) to the class about their projects.\r\n\r\nThe games have been a huge hit as well! I included our game of Fluxx: Greek God edition. Students who focused on the Greeks had an idea about who the characters/keepers were, why it made sense for the goals (how you win the game) paired up the keepers. There was plenty of reading involved and a bit strategy as well in changing up the rules. A big thing is having the students get engaged with the material and having them learn about the gods and then applying it to a game was fantastic in Bringing History to Life! \r\n\r\nWhile I do not have any pictures, for a short time, we had a Game Club, where we played Fluxx with other students as well as the game of Life which was part of my request. Students had to make choices about jobs, money, life choices in order to \"win\". There was a lot of thinking, analysing and comprehending for the students to be successful.","fullyFundedDate":1752076378636,"projectUrl":"project/bringing-history-to-life/9367421/","projectTitle":"Bringing History to Life!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Zuchowski","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9716808_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y154&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1725989031084","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-zuchowski-history-is-alive"},{"teacherId":9752216,"projectId":9364869,"letterContent":"We are excited to announce that we are grateful for the math manipulatives that we are using in our daily math classes. Thanks to you, our students now have the tools and environment they need to feel confident and inspired each day.\r\n\r\nThe notebooks, pencils, and paper have given students the freedom to dive into writing, brainstorming, and journaling without hesitation. Having these essentials on hand ensures that every student can participate fully, no matter their circumstances. The sticky notes have been a hit during reading and discussion—they help students annotate, share ideas, and engage more deeply with the texts.\r\n\r\nThe cleaning supplies have helped us keep our space fresh and welcoming, which is especially important in a small, rural school where we share resources closely. The stapler may seem simple, but it has already empowered students to assemble projects and take pride in their completed work.\r\n\r\nMost exciting of all, the reading chairs and floor lamp have transformed a corner of our classroom into a cozy reading nook. Students naturally gravitate toward this space, curling up with novels and discovering the joy of reading in a setting that feels warm and inviting—something especially meaningful during our long Montana winters.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, our classroom is no longer just a place to complete assignments—it's a space where students feel valued, supported, and inspired to grow as readers, writers, and storytellers. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for investing in their futures.","fullyFundedDate":1755872792578,"projectUrl":"project/ready-to-learn-essential-tools-for-engl/9510013/","projectTitle":"Ready to Learn: Essential Tools for English Class","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hinchcliff","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9708497_orig.jpg?crop=3054,3054,x0,y376&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724692722709","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9708497"},{"teacherId":9708497,"projectId":9332711,"letterContent":"I am writing with a full heart to thank you again—this time not only for your generosity, but for the real and visible difference it has made. There was excitement in the air as they explored the stories that now line our shelves—titles that reflect their identities, introduce new voices, and make them feel seen and heard. For students in our small, rural school on the Fort Peck Reservation, access to such a rich, diverse library isn't always a given. But now, because of you, it's part of their daily learning.\r\n\r\nThe journals and writing tools have empowered students to express themselves more freely and confidently. And the cozy reading space—brightened by the new floor lamp—has become a favorite corner of the classroom, offering comfort, calm, and a quiet place to connect with books.\r\n\r\nYour kindness has helped transform our learning environment into one of warmth, purpose, and belonging.
