The bright Sunset Stripes rug transformed our whole-group area into a warm and inviting space where students naturally want to gather for lessons, read-alouds, and discussions. The composition notebook rug has become a favorite spot for small groups and independent reading—it feels special, and the students often \"call\" their spots before class even begins. These rugs created a sense of community and comfort that has made learning feel more engaging and fun.\r\n\r\nThe addition of the desk dividers has been especially helpful during independent work and assessments. When students first saw them, there was a mixture of curiosity and excitement—they loved the idea of having their own little \"work space.\" For students who struggle with distractions, the dividers have provided the privacy they need to focus, and I've already seen a noticeable improvement in their confidence and independence when completing assignments.\r\n\r\nThe chair bands were another exciting surprise. Students immediately tested them out, bouncing their feet while laughing and saying things like, \"This is perfect for me!\" These simple bands have given students with extra energy a positive outlet during lessons. One student explained, \"It helps me move without bothering anyone else,\" which is exactly the impact I was hoping for. The bands have made it easier for all learners—especially those with fidgety feet—to stay engaged during longer stretches of instruction.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, these resources will continue to support every aspect of our classroom. The rugs will remain central to our reading and discussion time, the dividers will help with writing projects and assessments, and the chair bands will ensure that active learners can stay focused throughout the day. Together, these donations have created a classroom environment that is more inclusive, flexible, and welcoming—allowing each student to learn in the way that suits them best.","fullyFundedDate":1749672680204,"projectUrl":"project/first-year-classroom-in-middle-school-en/9399221/","projectTitle":"First Year Classroom In Middle School English.","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Peters","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10046979_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1748638563238","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10046979"},{"teacherId":10046979,"projectId":9387511,"letterContent":"When the boxes of supplies arrived, my students could hardly contain their excitement. The moment they saw the whiteboards and markers, they begged to try them out. We immediately used them in a quick spelling review, and it was incredible to see every single hand in the air with a board held high. Students who usually stay quiet during whole-group discussions were suddenly eager to show their answers. The confidence boost these tools provided has already changed the level of engagement in our class.\r\n\r\nThe communication center, cubby bins, and utility cart have made a tremendous difference in our daily routines. Students now have designated places to store their supplies and completed work, which has helped them stay organized and accountable. One student even commented, \"It's like I finally know where everything belongs.\" This sense of order has not only reduced clutter but also made transitions between lessons quicker and smoother.\r\n\r\nThe other classroom resources you funded—like the posters, magnetic lined paper, vocabulary and spelling workbooks, and writing prompt journals—have directly supported our English Language Arts lessons. For example, during a recent grammar mini-lesson, the parts of speech posters became our go-to visual anchor, and students referred back to them throughout their writing. The writing prompts have sparked creativity in even the most hesitant writers, helping them take risks and explore new ideas in their work.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we will continue to integrate these tools into our reading and writing routines. The giant classroom calendar, digital wall clock, and organizational supplies will keep us on track as we dive into larger projects this year, while the decor and diffuser help maintain a calm, welcoming learning environment. Most importantly, the donations you provided have created a space where students feel comfortable, inspired, and ready to learn. Your support has set the stage for continued growth, and I am excited to watch my students thrive with these resources at their fingertips.","fullyFundedDate":1749761263311,"projectUrl":"project/first-year-teacher/9387511/","projectTitle":"First Year Teacher","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Peters","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10046979_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1748638563238","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10046979"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_67952","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":176,"numTeachers":10,"percentFrplEligible":29,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":93,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"17.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":37.5,"schoolId":67952,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Columbus Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Columbus Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/montana/columbus-school-district-6/columbus-middle-school/67952"}
