Because of you, I was able to create a classroom snack bar with a special sign that reads, \"You deserve a treat, thanks for working hard today!\" This snack bar is used as a positive reinforcement tool during reading, math, and language lessons. Students earn snacks after showing effort, focus, and persistence, which has helped increase motivation and engagement across all subject areas. We are also using the social-emotional books and sensory toys during lessons and transitions to help students stay regulated, focused, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the new materials, they were excited and eager to use them. Many students were especially happy about the snacks and sensory toys, and several shared how the books helped them understand their feelings and behavior better. These resources have been especially helpful during reading groups, math problem-solving time, and language activities, allowing students to stay calm, focused, and confident. Although we were not able to receive the laptop due to availability, converting the resource into a projector has still allowed us to support learning through visual instruction and whole-class engagement.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for our students include continuing to strengthen their reading comprehension, math skills, and language development while also building social-emotional skills. Students will use the books to connect emotions to real-life situations, participate more confidently in language discussions, and stay focused during math and reading lessons with the help of sensory tools. Your support has created a positive, encouraging learning environment where students feel valued and motivated. Thank you for making such a meaningful difference in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1766967882535,"projectUrl":"project/bytes-and-bites-empowering-thriving-min/9749240/","projectTitle":"Bytes and Bites: Empowering Thriving Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ruby","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10275103_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y447&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1759440238926","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10275103"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_78308","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":149,"numTeachers":16,"percentFrplEligible":54,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":79,"percentIndigenous":10,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"9.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":71.9,"schoolId":78308,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Meadowlark Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Meadowlark Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/montana/chinook-school-district-10/meadowlark-elementary-school/78308"}
