As a school-based speech therapist, I constantly try to build foundational vocabulary and comprehension skills that will support language and literacy development. Like many districts, we face budgetary constraints that make it difficult to purchase the materials our students need and/or would significantly benefit from. From the bottom of my heart, I would like to say thank you for these resources for my students. \r\n\r\nMy students were thrilled when they first saw the new toys and activities. Through this grant, could purchase new toys, books, play-doh, velcro dots, laminating sheets, and glue sticks for my students. The kitchen toy set and play-doh have been some of the biggest hits with my students. The students are also working on soft-skills and getting information from organizations in the community to share on the slide show. The students have reached out to the YMCA, Community Education, Orphan Girl Theater, Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch and many more. The students talked with the group running the concession stand to get prices and items offered. The students are using the flash-drives to save canva slides and are excited to have ready in the next few weeks to display for the community members. A few students are ready to help mount the TV when the carpenter is available.
