The LEGO materials quickly became a favorite because students could build, experiment, and work together while practicing problem-solving and perseverance. The new books also gave students more choices and helped create excitement around reading and discovering new topics.\r\n\r\nOne of our favorite activities is combining LEGO building with reading. After exploring LEGO books in the library, students can choose a building challenge and work with a partner or small group to design and create. They have to listen to one another, share ideas, make adjustments, and keep trying when their first idea doesn't work. \r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue offering LEGO building challenges alongside our library lessons and introduce students to more of the new books throughout the year.
