Student eyes were wide when they saw the gigantic pile of items. As a special education teacher in a low socio-economic school, I always purchase what I need for my students. By you funding my project I am able to save my money for emergencies and my retirement. I am also allowed to spoil my special needs kiddos with new items, and resources that I would not spend money on because they are luxuries. For example the lined writing paper with drawing space; just wow, my kiddos loved it. I also do a reward system called, \"First, Then\" that uses bingo chips. It is so much easier to use the double-sided Velcro instead of tape. (See uploaded picture.) Our school administration does not allow regular tape, push-pins to hang student work on the walls, therefore the painters tape was a necessity. I purchased one on my own because I wanted to make bulletin boards for student best work, make a quiet corner, and post my Missouri State Standards on the wall. I was using the smallest piece possible; now I can use a piece that will actually hold-up the paper, bulletin borders, and cover pages on our walls. I also bought wet wipes, but they are so expensive I went to making my own cleaning spray bottle and using a wash cloth. The wash cloth required washing, so I took it home. With the Clorox Wipes, I don't have to worry about the washing the wash cloth. The snacks are also a luxury as I only purchased jolly ranchers because you could get the most for your buck. (See uploaded picture.) The rolling storage cart was a blessing for my para because she now has her own workspace to store and save student work. (See uploaded picture.) The next steps are to, reorganize my classroom with the storage bins, design more curriculum using the manipulatives, and come up with a point reward system for the snacks. Thank you again, and again.","fullyFundedDate":1757443942046,"projectUrl":"project/special-education-remodel/9550112/","projectTitle":"Special Education Remodel","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Jamie Israel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8539670_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1661130052738","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8539670"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_76802","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":112,"numTeachers":11,"percentFrplEligible":33,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":98,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"10.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":60.0,"schoolId":76802,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Winston School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Winston School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/missouri/winston-school-district-r6/winston-school/76802"}
