The use of yoga balls in the classroom has allowed my students to remain active while learning, which has helped to increase their focus and reduce their restlessness. The yoga balls are so helpful for several of my students who previously struggled with sitting still for extended periods and now have a way to move while staying engaged in my lessons. This active learning approach has been especially beneficial for two of my students in particular with attention challenges, helping them to stay more alert and involved during our lessons.\r\n\r\nThe addition of iPad has also had a tremendous impact, providing my students with immediate access to a wealth of educational resources. The interactivity and versatility of the iPad has helped cater to various learning styles, allowing my students to engage with content in dynamic ways, such as watching educational videos, playing learning games, or participating in interactive exercises. Students are particularly excited about the instant feedback they receive from digital quizzes and games, which motivates them to keep learning and improving. A few of my students who were initially hesitant about technology have really warmed up to using the iPad, particularly those who struggle with traditional learning methods. These tools have allowed me created a more inclusive learning environment, where my students are empowered to learn at their own pace, with immediate support and resources at their fingertips.","fullyFundedDate":1733282049456,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-minds-wellness-resources-for/8910270/","projectTitle":"Empowering Minds: Wellness Resources for a Calm Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rawson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2468178"},{"teacherId":9817181,"projectId":8905327,"letterContent":"I sincerely thank you for the generous donation of mental health related tools for use in my counseling program. The weighted puppy has been held and snuggled often by my students who see me for check-ins, are feeling anxious about a situation, or just need a quiet place to calm down or complete classwork. These opportunities allow them to learn calm, self-regulation techniques and in return they are able to remain in their classes longer, stay focused on the material being taught and become successful learners both in and outside the classroom.\r\n\r\nThe iPad is utilized in a variety of ways! I use it to play soft background music in my office throughout the school day and during the after school programs I sponsor. Students use it independently to play interactive games and access calming apps as well as listen to calming music. Students have even used it to brainstorm ideas for service learning projects at our school. \r\n\r\nThank you, again, so very much for your kindness and generosity!","fullyFundedDate":1730061851199,"projectUrl":"project/calm-self-regulation/8905327/","projectTitle":"Calm Self-Regulation","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Pipkin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9817181_orig.jpg?crop=1080,1080,x0,y50&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1738187215573","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9817181"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_60758","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":216,"numTeachers":15,"percentFrplEligible":55,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":98,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"14.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":60758,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about West County Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"West County Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/missouri/west-county-r4-school-district/west-county-middle-school/60758"}
