With your generosity we will be able to better support our students during their times of hunger. With this, they will have a better mindset to learn in the classroom and overall, feel more awake and alert after eating a much needed snack. I am so happy that we can now include ALL the students, even the ones with food allergies and food sensitivities! We could not do this alone, so the support of this community is greatly appreciated.","fullyFundedDate":1760724503793,"projectUrl":"project/fueling-young-minds-by-filling-the-fri/9624109/","projectTitle":"\"Fueling\" Young Minds by Filling the Fridge","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Renee","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9839459"},{"teacherId":9873610,"projectId":9005820,"letterContent":"Your contribution to our project has already impacted our students. While I can't give too many details, we have had 3 instances where the closet has helped our students. The students all experienced changes in their lives that were out of their control. The closet was able to give them the privacy and power over themselves that has been missing. The students were very emotional because while they had no control at home, they could control this wonderful resource. \r\n\r\nWhile this is not in my classroom, our team has begun to implement an executive functioning program to help students develop skills like self-advocacy, self-awareness, self- management among others. We hope that while developing these skills, our students will be more capable and confident in asking for help when they need it. This is where the closet would shine. We would have the resources to actually make an impact when they feel confident enough to ask.","fullyFundedDate":1734845682452,"projectUrl":"project/bridging-the-gap-for-families-in-crisis/9005820/","projectTitle":"Bridging the Gap for Families in Crisis","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rivali","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9873610"},{"teacherId":9839459,"projectId":8947132,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous donations my students can utilize the crisis care closet at any time during school, which allows them to access essential items like clothing, personal hygiene products and household goods when they are experiencing a personal crisis or need at home that prevents them from having these necessities. In fact, within the first week of having the crisis care closet we were able to help 2 separate families facing financial hardship and homelessness. These 2 students were excited to \"shop\" discretely for what they needed or even what their family members needed. By doing so, they were able to gain a sense of purpose in their household as they were able to contribute much needed items at no cost to the family. The impact this made was profound, as they both \"shopped\" with dignity and pride. \r\nAs time goes on, we plan on continuing to support as many students and their families as possible. We hope to gain additional insight into what is needed and desired so that we can eventually stock those items as well. With continued donations we even plan to start stocking non-perishable food items to send home as well. Another aspect of our care closet is to help students build empathy for others. We will partner with our coworkers to incorporate empathy into their weekly executive function lesson. We want to have students help package items and stock the shelves. We hope this will help build awareness of the amount of people who are in transition and do not have a stable home.","fullyFundedDate":1732306987168,"projectUrl":"project/crisis-care-closet/8947132/","projectTitle":"Crisis Care Closet","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Renee","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9839459"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_110318","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":50,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":66,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":43,"percentWhite":33,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":4,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":61.9,"schoolId":110318,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Bridges Program on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Bridges Program","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/missouri/st-louis-county-special-school-district/bridges-program/110318"}
