Your generous contributions have provided our students with the essential tools they need to succeed and have made a profound impact on our classroom. \r\n\r\nFor many of our students, having new, quality supplies instills a sense of pride and belonging that goes beyond academics. When the boxes arrived, the children were beyond excited. Their eyes lit up, and they gasped in awe at the vibrant colors and fresh-smelling contents. They couldn't wait to use the new crayons, pencils, and notebooks, and the shared excitement was a moment of pure joy for everyone.\r\n\r\nThe new resources have already been put to excellent use in a specific classroom project focused on botany. We are using the high-quality paper and colored pencils to create detailed, scientific illustrations of different parts of a plant, from roots to flowers. The new glue and scissors are allowing students to construct three-dimensional models of a plant's life cycle. This hands-on, practical life activity aligns perfectly with the Montessori method, encouraging motor skills and a deeper understanding of the natural world. Having these new, reliable supplies allows our students to concentrate on their work and creativity without frustration, boosting their confidence and engagement.","fullyFundedDate":1755140634402,"projectUrl":"project/smells-like-fresh-school-supplies/9565263/","projectTitle":"Smells Like Fresh School Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. May","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9923490_orig.jpg?crop=2320,2320,x0,y417&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1751023409200","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9923490"},{"teacherId":9923490,"projectId":9464202,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our Montessori STEM project in St. Louis. Your generosity gave our students an exciting first look at new hands-on materials and books. When we introduced the books, kits for exploration, and more, you could see their curiosity light up — one group immediately began testing buoyancy with small boats, while another designed a simple seed germination experiment to observe root growth. These moments demonstrated how well the materials align with our Cosmic Education approach, where STEM is seamlessly integrated into lessons about the natural world and the connections between subjects.\r\n\r\nAs a next step, students will build on those discoveries by planning and documenting a short class investigation, which involves forming questions, conducting trials with the kits, and sharing findings in a gallery-style presentation for families and supporters. Introducing STEM early is about more than future careers — it helps cultivate critical thinking, problem-solving, and an innovative mindset. \r\nYour support is helping us grow curious, thoughtful learners who love exploring science, history, biology, and botany. We are deeply grateful for your partnership and for investing in our students' learning.","fullyFundedDate":1754599524631,"projectUrl":"project/nurturing-young-minds-a-hands-on-journe/9464202/","projectTitle":"Nurturing Young Minds: A Hands-On Journey Through Science","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. May","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9923490_orig.jpg?crop=2320,2320,x0,y417&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1751023409200","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9923490"},{"teacherId":9923490,"projectId":9436505,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous support of our lower elementary Montessori classroom. Your contribution has given us materials designed for a student with low vision and resources that encourage all children to explore, discover, and learn at their own pace. When students first saw the new materials, their curiosity and excitement were immediate — they gathered to examine textures, compare pieces, and ask thoughtful questions about how the materials help different learners. \r\n\r\nOne recent moment that stands out: a small group used the adapted tactile map during a community‑stories project, and students of all abilities collaborated to describe places and share personal connections.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, we can continue building an environment where every child feels seen, valued, and empowered. \r\n\r\nNext steps for our current project include extending the tactile and visual materials into our cultural-studies unit: students will research a community tradition, create paired visual-and-tactile presentations, and practice sharing in small groups to build empathy and communication skills. \r\n\r\nYour gift not only empowers the student with low vision but also helps nurture a generation of compassionate, understanding citizens — thank you for making this possible.","fullyFundedDate":1754599524645,"projectUrl":"project/illuminating-learning-a-montessori-clas/9436505/","projectTitle":"Illuminating Learning: A Montessori Classroom for All Eyes and Hearts","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. May","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9923490_orig.jpg?crop=2320,2320,x0,y417&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1751023409200","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9923490"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_134409","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":null,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":54,"percentWhite":16,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":22,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":false,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"1 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Weighted Average","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":134409,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about City Garden Montessori School - 1-8th Grade on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"City Garden Montessori School - 1-8th Grade","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/missouri/missouri-department-of-education/city-garden-montessori-school-1-8th-grade/134409"}
