Since receiving the blocks, students have been using them daily to build towers, houses, obstacle courses, roads, and even pretend community buildings. One memorable classroom moment was when a group of students worked together to create a \"city\" complete with homes, a school, and a fire station. They spent time planning, problem-solving, and communicating with one another while proudly showing off their teamwork and creativity.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the foam blocks, they were filled with excitement and could not wait to start building. Their faces lit up as they explored the different shapes and sizes, and many students immediately began collaborating with classmates to create large structures together. The blocks quickly became one of the most popular areas in our classroom.\r\n\r\nThese materials have helped strengthen important early childhood skills such as cooperation, communication, spatial awareness, fine and gross motor development, and problem-solving. Moving forward, we plan to incorporate the blocks into more classroom lessons and projects, including building structures that connect to our community helpers, transportation, and STEM learning themes. The students are continuing to grow their creativity and confidence through hands-on learning experiences, and we are so thankful for the support that made this possible!","fullyFundedDate":1774963779658,"projectUrl":"project/building-big-minds-with-foam-blocks/10166638/","projectTitle":"Building Big Minds with Foam Blocks","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Alkire","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10029837_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1774366543015","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10029837"},{"teacherId":10035995,"projectId":9866918,"letterContent":"My students and I have been actively using our new resources during daily routines, literacy centers, and small group instruction. One moment that truly stood out was during our \"Picture Story/Word Story\" activity. Students used visual supports to describe what they saw and began connecting their ideas to words and simple sentences. Watching their confidence grow as they shared their thoughts and stories has been incredibly rewarding.\r\n\r\n\r\nWhen the materials were first introduced, my students were immediately excited and curious. Every day, they come ready to explore, ask questions, and learn new things about the world around them. They are learning how to work together, follow routines, and build the early skills that will carry them through school and life. I especially love seeing their excitement when they master something new—from zipping their coats to writing their names. Their smiles make every challenge worthwhile.\r\n\r\nThese resources are already helping create a more structured and supportive classroom environment. Visual timers, picture schedules, and cue cards are helping students better understand transitions and expectations, which has led to a calmer and more predictable day. Organization tools and visual supports are encouraging independence, while calm-down materials are helping students manage big emotions and return to learning more quickly.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, our next steps include continuing to build independence with routines and expanding students' early literacy skills through more structured storytelling and writing activities. We will also focus on using these tools to support collaboration and problem-solving during group work. With these resources, we are making every moment count for learning, growth, and joy in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1769191961137,"projectUrl":"project/making-every-minute-count-in-preschool/9866918/","projectTitle":"Making Every Minute Count in Preschool!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Starnes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10035995_orig.jpg?crop=578,578,x471,y312&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1747242689517","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10035995"},{"teacherId":10029837,"projectId":9375360,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support in providing our class with the Lakeshore Fairy Tales Problem Solving Kits! These new resources have truly transformed the way my students approach math and critical thinking.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the kits during our small-group math centers, where students work together to solve real-world problems inspired by classic fairy tales. One of our favorite moments was when students had to help the Three Little Pigs build the strongest house using different \"materials\" and math strategies. It was amazing to watch them test, discuss, and revise their ideas while laughing and cheering each other on. The activity not only strengthened their problem-solving skills but also encouraged teamwork and creativity.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the kits, their faces lit up with excitemen and they couldn't wait to dive in! Many said it felt like \"playing and learning at the same time.\" These materials have made our lessons come alive, sparking curiosity and confidence in every child.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has made a real impact in our classroom. The moment the students saw it for the first time, their eyes lit up with excitement and wonder. There were gasps, claps, and eager chatter as they explored every tiny room and detail. It quickly became the most loved item in our classroom, and it has brought so much joy to our learning environment. Your kindness has made a lasting impact on our students.\r\n The dollhouse has become much more than just a toy — it's a powerful learning tool. Through imaginative play, my students have been practicing essential social skills such as sharing, taking turns, and cooperative problem-solving. It has also encouraged storytelling, expanded vocabulary, and introduced concepts of family, home, and community. I've seen quieter students come out of their shells during dollhouse play, taking on roles and expressing themselves in new and creative ways.\r\n One of our favorite activities is using the dollhouse for a storytelling lesson. The students create characters and act out short stories using the furniture and dolls, then we work together to write and illustrate the stories they create. It's a fun and meaningful way to build literacy skills while keeping them fully engaged. Thank you again for your incredible support — this dollhouse has truly opened up a world of learning and imagination in our classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1747168018001,"projectUrl":"project/building-dreams-funding-a-dollhouse-for/9338152/","projectTitle":"Building Dreams: Funding a Dollhouse for Creative Play","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Alkire","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10029837_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1774366543015","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10029837"},{"teacherId":9566724,"projectId":8449576,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for choosing to donate to our project.
