I am incredibly grateful for your generosity and belief in my students. My classroom is composed of children who qualify for Early Childhood Special Education, and your support has made a meaningful difference in how they explore, engage, and grow in our classroom each day.\r\n\r\nAs a committed life-long learner myself, I continue to deepen my understanding of how my neurodiverse learners learn best — through hands-on, sensory-rich, and individualized experiences. The materials you provided, including loose parts STEM kits, natural wooden trays, magnetic blocks, suction construction toys, sorting and transfer tools, Playfoam Pluffle, puzzles, and nature-inspired building materials, have allowed me to better meet each child where they are developmentally.\r\n\r\nThese materials support fine motor development, sensory regulation, early STEM skills, and social interaction in ways that feel joyful and meaningful to my students. I've watched children carefully scoop and pour using transfer tools, build and rebuild structures with magnetic blocks and branch blocks, and engage in focused, calm play with sensory materials. Students who often struggle to remain engaged are able to sustain attention longer, while others use the sensory tools to help regulate their bodies and emotions so they can participate more fully in learning.\r\n\r\nOne of the most rewarding moments has been seeing my students naturally connect with one another through these materials. They collaborate, problem-solve, and communicate as they build together, share materials, and explore new ideas. The open-ended nature of the loose parts encourages creativity and confidence, while the structured materials provide predictability and support for students who need it.\r\n\r\nThe natural materials have also helped create the calm, nurturing environment I strive for — one where students feel safe to explore, take risks, and grow at their own pace. Your generosity has helped transform my classroom into a space where learning feels accessible, engaging, and empowering for every child.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this possible and for investing in my students' growth, curiosity, and happiness. Your support has had a lasting impact, and we are truly thankful.","fullyFundedDate":1764556009762,"projectUrl":"project/materials-to-support-all-learners/9568003/","projectTitle":"Materials to Support All Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sarah","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/sarahh"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_54203","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":305,"numTeachers":12,"percentFrplEligible":75,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":25,"percentWhite":50,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":25,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - Pre-K","studentTeacherRatio":"25.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":50.0,"schoolId":54203,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Hanthorn Early Education on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Hanthorn Early Education","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/missouri/independence-school-district-30/head-start-center/54203"}
