Though it may seem small, the impact this has had on my students this year has been incredible. Previously we were working with broken and mismatched percussion sticks, tuning slides, and valves that were stuck constantly, and an overwhelming feeling amongst my students that they were not deserving of good equipment. It has changed my students mindset and approach to how they care for their instruments. \r\n\r\nWe are able to do \" technical Tuesdays\" now. Where we focus on learning how to and taking care of the instruments that we have at our disposal. We no longer having to ration resources, and the kids can take ownership of their instrument care. The addition of an extra mouthpiece puller it's been extremely helpful so that kids are able to take their instruments home more often get their mouthpiece get stuck because we aren't waiting for the tool to come back from the other building. \r\n\r\nMoving forward, we're able to focus on improved percussion technique as we have the appropriate sticks for the instruments and enough for everyone. Woodwinds and brass are focusing on proper care of their instruments so that we can have good tone and be more musical without the worries of broken instruments. \r\n\r\nThank you again so much for the donation. Because of your donation, we were able to purchase a large bean bag, floor cushions, and cozy lamps that completely transformed our space. These simple items made a huge impact, offering students a soft, safe place to sit during independent work, partner activities, or just to take a breath when they needed a moment of calm.\r\n\r\nEvery single day of the school year, these items were used and loved by my students. The bean bag became a favorite spot for reading and small group work, while the floor cushions gave students more flexible seating options that helped them focus and feel at ease. The warm glow from the lamps made our classroom feel more like home and less like a typical school room, something that mattered so much to my students. We also used the whiteboards for whole group practice and independent work. These provided a low risk way for student ls to work through math problems. Your kindness helped create a space where students felt comfortable, cared for, and ready to learn.
