These tools have already made such a difference for my students, and I'm thrilled to share how they've been impacting their lives. The iPad has given students a safe, private space to express themselves when they find it hard to talk about their feelings. Many students have started using it for digital journaling—whether it's drawing, writing, or recording their thoughts, especially when they're feeling stressed. For example, one student used the stylus to draw images that helped express their anxiety before a big test, which opened up a really meaningful conversation about how to manage those feelings.\r\n\r\nWe've also been using mindfulness apps like Calm and Headspace, which have quickly become part of the daily routine for some of my students. The iPad makes it easy for them to access these tools anytime they need a moment to relax, whether it's before a test or just to take a breather during the day. It's been incredible to watch how these short sessions help calm their nerves and bring them back to a place of focus. Many students have really embraced the technology, finding it a great way to manage anxiety in real-time, whether they're in class or even at lunch.\r\n\r\nBeyond just helping with their emotions, the iPad has allowed me to connect with students in a deeper way. Whether we're in the classroom, a quiet spot in the cafeteria, my office, or even before a big game, it's made it so much easier for me to support them and track their progress. It's been amazing to see how much more confident and comfortable they feel with themselves, their peers, and with me. Your donation has made all of this possible, and I truly can't thank you enough for helping make such a meaningful impact on these students' lives.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity!","fullyFundedDate":1731082425437,"projectUrl":"project/healing-through-technology-supporting-s/8923889/","projectTitle":"Healing Through Technology: Supporting Student Mental Health with Digital Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bowen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9828267"},{"teacherId":9830369,"projectId":8929385,"letterContent":"St. Louis, Missouri, February 9, 2025 \r\nI am writing to thank you for the donation we have received.\r\nThe yoga mats and straps are being used every day with different classes.\r\nWe begin the day by sitting on the mats, grounding for a few minutes, and continue with our yoga routine, which aligns us to be present academically.\r\n\r\nThe 30-35 minute routine enable students to prepare their bodies and minds to receive instruction attentively, to perform their presentations more accurately and display awareness of themselves and their audience.\r\n\r\nThe ability of having yoga equipment in the classroom and not having to move to the gym, allow the students to use the time wisely and know that the classroom is a place of spiritual refuge as well as a place of learning and being with friends.","fullyFundedDate":1733161036237,"projectUrl":"project/mindfulness-at-school/8929385/","projectTitle":"Mindfulness at School","teacherDisplayName":"Prof. Doural","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9830369"},{"teacherId":9841901,"projectId":8951710,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the wobble seats. By offering flexible seating arrangements, students have been able to find positions that allow them to feel comfortable and productive, which has led to greater participation and improved attention during lessons. The freedom to choose between standing desks, yoga balls, or traditional seating has empowered students to take ownership of their learning environment, resulting in increased motivation and reduced instances of restlessness or distraction.\r\n\r\nIncorporating fidget toys and stress-relief coloring books has further supported students' emotional and cognitive development. These tools provide an outlet for nervous energy, allowing students to self-regulate their emotions and remain engaged without disrupting the class. Many students, especially those with sensory processing needs or anxiety, have benefited from the calming effects of these resources. Additionally, the availability of snacks throughout the day has ensured that students remain nourished, which in turn helps with concentration and emotional regulation. Overall, these strategies have created a more inclusive and supportive classroom, where students feel valued and equipped to succeed both academically and emotionally.","fullyFundedDate":1731102641813,"projectUrl":"project/helping-students-strengthen-mental-healt/8923878/","projectTitle":"Helping Students Strengthen Mental Health","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Simon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9828261"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_77764","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":195,"numTeachers":22,"percentFrplEligible":24,"percentAsian":8,"percentBlack":20,"percentWhite":51,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":10,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"8.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":77764,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Brentwood High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Brentwood High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/missouri/brentwood-school-district/brentwood-high-school/77764"}
