Blah Blah Blah and the Letters Sequence game have also been a hit. It is so fun to see game play spark the enjoyment of reading!\r\nI have personally enjoyed using the reference book for the tricks (rules) behind phonics to support my instruction. Your support has made a powerful and immediate impact on my students, and I am so excited to share how your donation is helping us every single day.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials arrived, my students could hardly contain their excitement. Unpacking the new books felt like opening a treasure chest. They crowded around, pointing out titles they recognized, authors they loved, and covers that immediately drew them in. The addition of graphic novels has been especially popular. These books are flying off the shelves faster than I can keep track, and they've helped reach students who previously didn't see themselves as readers. Now, they're fully engaged and asking for more time to read during the day!\r\n\r\nIn addition to the books, the individual book bins have completely changed the way students interact with reading. Each child now has a personal space to keep their current reads. Before, books often got misplaced or mixed up with others, and students would waste time looking for the one they were reading. Now, with their own bins, they have a system that helps them stay organized and focused. I've noticed a clear increase in how responsible and motivated they are during independent reading time.\r\n\r\nOne of the most heartwarming changes has been watching students recommend books to one another. They're talking about characters, laughing over funny scenes, and even planning who gets to read certain books next. One student said, \"I feel like we have our own little library just for us.\" That feeling of ownership and excitement around reading is something I've always hoped to build in my classroom, and thanks to you, it's now a reality.\r\n\r\nMany of my students come from homes where access to books is limited. For them, this classroom library is one of the few places they can explore a wide variety of genres and topics. Your support has given them the opportunity to find books that reflect their interests, cultures, and experiences, while also exposing them to new ideas and worlds. That's a gift that goes far beyond the pages of a book.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has not only improved our classroom—it's inspired my students. They know that someone out there believes in them and cares about their education. That kind of encouragement is incredibly powerful and motivating.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of my students and myself, thank you for helping create a classroom where reading is joyful, personal, and meaningful. We are so grateful for your kindness, and we promise to continue making the most of everything you've made possible.","fullyFundedDate":1748807480978,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-library-makeover-refresh/9381219/","projectTitle":"Classroom Library Makeover & Refresh","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Smuda","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10044456_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1748393065544","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10044456"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_75659","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":712,"numTeachers":44,"percentFrplEligible":28,"percentAsian":8,"percentBlack":14,"percentWhite":63,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":5,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"16.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":75.0,"schoolId":75659,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Sunset Hill Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Sunset Hill Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/minnesota/wayzata-public-schools/sunset-hill-elementary-school/75659"}
