The CD players is used by the children many times through out the school day since they just love books and being read to. I had some books and CD's already in my collection, but now with more books that came with this donation I can rotate a new book once every two weeks. I cannot begin to explain the children's excitement when a new book is displayed next to the CD player! They are taken out every day!\r\n\r\nThe color tablets are an integral Montessori activity, and it's imperative to have a full set. My students now can use them as directed through Montessori pedagogy, and enjoy putting them from light to dark, sorting them, and comparing them to real objects in our room.\r\n\r\nThe color matching wooden tablet activity shows a smaller grade from light to dark in order, and helps children build their sense of color and hue. It's also great for their pencil grasp! They love using this one as well, especially my youngest learners. They love to turn off the lights and read in the dark. It makes our reading time extra special. Also, when I read a book aloud during snack they decide if that book should go into the classroom library so that they can read and look at the book again on their own! \r\nThank you for continuing the love of reading for my current and future students. The rug arrived the first week of school and is a central part of the classroom. In the past I have measured out and put down a velcro line to indicate where the students need to sit. It was never very attractive, but it did the job. The new rug is so beautiful and functional! The children sit around the edge for \"circle\" activities, and they sit in the dots for lessons. It is especially important for our phonics lessons because there is plenty of space for each child AND their lap desk. This new classroom furniture has allowed me to adjust my classroom to the needs of my students. It has been especially helpful with my students in PreK and Kindergarten. Such as the ability to block off sections so students are not allowed in certain areas but still useful for me to use to teach from. \r\n\r\nThe many storage spaces in this unit gives me the space to store materials for each class without me having to go from one section of my room to another. I can quickly and easily grab materials and present/give to my students. All the the materials is in one place. This allows for guest teachers to find materials easily also.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new piece of furniture in my room, they were so excited. They can come up and work on the extended part of the furniture without squishing into someone else.
