For our non-verbal students, the world is often experienced more through other senses, such as touch and sight. This technology has opened up a brand-new dimension of communication and connection for them. \r\n\r\nWhile many people use 3D printing for hobbies, in our classroom, it is a vital tool for accessibility. We are now able to create custom, tactile manipulatives and interactive pieces to engage students, form connections, and regulate our bodies. The excitement in the room when the printer is running is palpable. The students are fascinated by watching a physical object appear following its display on a screen. Abstract concepts are turned into something they can hold in their hands. \r\n\r\nWe've seen more engagement and interest from students as they seek out the creations we've made and display more regulation across their school day. Your generosity has done more than just provide a piece of hardware; you have provided my students with a voice and a tangible way to interact with their environment. Seeing their faces light up when they use and interact with a new tool is a gift that will resonate long after this school year ends. Thank you for believing in the potential of our students and for giving them the tools with which they thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1769190834012,"projectUrl":"project/3d-printer-for-non-verbal-special-educat/9983866/","projectTitle":"3D Printer for Non-Verbal Special Education Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Kyle","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6225829"},{"teacherId":9801035,"projectId":8872167,"letterContent":"I would like to sincerely thank you for your gratitude in helping both me and my students. the supplies provided through this project helped me actively engage my students in their learning. For example, the whiteboards were used consistently for activities such as think alouds, turn and talks, and think-pair-shares. Secondly, the canvases were used to approach ELA topics in a more creative way. Lastly, the texts that were a part of this project featured a wide variety of interests and backgrounds. My students engaged with these texts on a daily basis.","fullyFundedDate":1728840529189,"projectUrl":"project/mr-pritzl/8872167/","projectTitle":"Mr. Pritzl","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Pritzl","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9801035"},{"teacherId":9823541,"projectId":8914919,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your support in adding new fidgets and resources to my school counseling office! Many of my students gravitate to the fidgets. One boy used one the entire time we met about his academic schedule and said it was his most productive meeting ever because he could focus. Thanks to your generosity I can allow students to take fidgets with them to use in class. Before I was so limited in number they had to stay in my office and be used only when students met with me. Some students have said my office now has a fun, \"Disney\" vibe.\r\n\r\nThe resources on ADHD and anxiety are also invaluable to me as I work to help students be more successful in school.
