With these donations, students in Kindergarten through 4th grades have been able to create with new tools and media.\r\n\r\nKindergartners and first graders have enjoyed creating collages with tools like craft scissors and paper crimpers. First grade in particular loved the ease adn surprise of putting different papers through the crimper. They even experimented with magazine and scrapbook pages! Grade two has had a blast creating their own print designs using brayers and Gelli Plate printing plates. Students in grades three and four have tried out shading techniques with new drawing pencils. Students were surprised to learn that drawing pencils come in a variety of hardness degrees. They had fun experimenting to find their preferred pencil as well as using the blending stumps to shade. Third and fourth graders are also realling enjoying weaving on cardboard looms- so relaxing! The techniques we learn in class are important and useful to students today as well as in the future.\r\n\r\nThis experience has really allowed students to grow artistically. It is important to me to show students the wide variety of media, techniques, and styles available to them to express their creativity. Without your generous donations, providing these experiences may not have been possible for quite some time. Seeing their excitement and engagement and hearing their stories and plans has made this effort so worth it. I look forward to making good use of these new supplies and to continue expanding student understanding and interest in the arts. \r\n\r\nFrom all of us at Pillager Elementary: Thank you!","fullyFundedDate":1733240950878,"projectUrl":"project/fun-new-experiences-in-the-arts/8740372/","projectTitle":"Fun New Experiences in the Arts","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Roden","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9590317_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1731179299505","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9590317"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_74412","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1324,"numTeachers":17,"percentFrplEligible":37,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":93,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"77.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":80.7,"schoolId":74412,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Pillager School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Pillager School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/minnesota/pillager-independent-school-district-116/pillager-school/74412"}
