Because of your donations and efforts, our classroom has become a more inclusive and responsive place. More comfortable seating at the rug, our group learning space, has resulted in students actively participating more meaningfully in our academic groups. Students who were previously inconsistently joining their peers for group times are now gradually spending more time at group rug, which means more collaborative learning, sharing, and growing is taking place. \r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, our break space has become cozier and better suited to serve students when they are seeking sensory support and regulation. The bean bag chair is used every minute of every day. The larger impact of a better furnished break space is that students are now increasingly regulated in the classroom, resulting in more learning, more joy, and more progress towards IEP goals.\r\n\r\nYour kindness has powerfully and positively impacted the school experiences of 10 amazing young people. We are profusely grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1755620770964,"projectUrl":"project/every-seat-makes-a-difference/9456118/","projectTitle":"Every Seat Makes A Difference","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Phoebe","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10075539"},{"teacherId":8091921,"projectId":8976594,"letterContent":"Your donations have definitely made our school library a fun and exciting place to visit! While many students love to come to the library and find a new adventure between the pages, some students are more reluctant or unsure about a space full of books, not knowing if there's something for them. Adding some different types of books, and those cool floor tiles have enticed all of our readers!\r\n\r\nWith your donations we were able to purchase some I Spy, Where's Waldo and How-to-Draw books for our nonfiction shelves. However, this spot on the shelf has been pretty empty since the books arrived because students are so excited to check them out. Most of my students hadn't been exposed to these types of books before and they are absolutely in love with them. Several of the Where's Waldo books have holds on them as students eagerly await their turn to check them out! Not all students are natural readers, so these books have motivated them to get excited about a book.\r\n\r\nEach and every student (and adult) walking into our library the first day I put out the sensory floor tiles stopped, stared and commented on the magical entrance! Our learners and teachers love the bright colors, welcoming vibe, and joy these simple floor tiles bring. I am the luckiest to watch the smiles on everyone's faces as they enter our library!","fullyFundedDate":1733498458965,"projectUrl":"project/the-school-library-is-a-fun-place-to-be/8976594/","projectTitle":"The School Library is A Fun Place To Be!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sheri","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8091921_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1732721788098","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8091921"},{"teacherId":8091921,"projectId":8967723,"letterContent":"Your donations have made a huge impact on the students at Pratt Elementary! Students are always excited when I'm able to tell them we have new books available in the library, however I have a limited budget to purchase books each year. Our book budget typically goes to buying new books and books that meet the needs of standards and classroom instruction. Being able to tell students, not only did we get new books, but they were the specific titles and series that the students themselves had been requesting was amazing!\r\nI processed the books quickly once they were received and created a special book display showcasing the new books. For each class and individual who entered the library, I made a point to direct their attention to the display. I talked about each series and book to spark interest and often shared which students had been requesting the books because kids always love peer recommendations! It was especially exciting to personally visit specific students who had been requesting specific books to tell them about your amazing donations. For example, two of our fourth grade girls had really gotten into the Phoebe and the Unicorn books by Dana Simpson, but their classroom teacher only had a couple titles and our library had zero. The day that I told them we had been gifted the entire 22 book series, their faces lit up as they raced to the library to be the first to check them out. \r\nHaving access to books of interest and allowing students to choose their own books has been shown to increase the amount of time students spend reading. This time is directly correlated to reading achievement. Having these books available on our Pratt Library bookshelves has greatly impacted many students this year already and will continue to benefit readers in years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1732718540186,"projectUrl":"project/series-ously-books-are-great/8967723/","projectTitle":"Series-ously, Books Are Great!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sheri","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8091921_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1732721788098","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8091921"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_69290","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":196,"numTeachers":18,"percentFrplEligible":90,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":60,"percentWhite":16,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":15,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"10.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":72.7,"schoolId":69290,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Pratt Community School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Pratt Community School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/minnesota/minneapolis-public-schools/pratt-elementary-school/69290"}
