The new resources have already made a huge difference for our students. We use the whiteboards every day during math and reading groups so students can practice skills, show their thinking, and receive immediate feedback. The multiplication cards have become a favorite during small-group intervention time and partner games, helping students build confidence and fluency with their math facts. The highlighters are also used daily as students practice finding important details in reading passages and editing their writing.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, they were so excited and eager to use them right away. Many students immediately asked if they could practice math facts or use the whiteboards during lessons. One special moment was watching students work together during a multiplication review activity. Students who are sometimes hesitant to participate were excited to hold up their whiteboards and share their answers with confidence.\r\n\r\nThe cable floor covers have also helped create a safer and more organized classroom environment, especially with students moving around during centers and group activities.\r\n\r\nOur next steps include continuing to strengthen math fluency, reading comprehension, and written expression through hands-on learning opportunities. Students are currently working on collaborative math activities, reading response tasks, and practicing editing skills in their writing. By projecting texts, problem-solving steps, and student examples, all learners are able to see exactly what is being modeled without relying solely on verbal directions.\r\n\r\nIn reading, the document camera allows students to visually track print as phonics patterns, decoding strategies, fluency practice, and comprehension skills are explicitly modeled. Students can observe how to break apart words, follow along during guided reading, and see annotations or highlights that support understanding. This is especially beneficial for students who struggle with attention, processing, or working memory, as it reduces cognitive load and increases engagement.\r\n\r\nIn math, the document camera supports step-by-step modeling of problem-solving strategies, number sense activities, and multi-step processes. Students can clearly see how problems are set up, how strategies are applied, and how mistakes are corrected in real time. This visual support helps students make connections between abstract concepts and concrete representations.\r\n\r\nOverall, the document camera increases accessibility, supports diverse learning needs, promotes student confidence, and ensures that every learner has an equal opportunity to engage with instruction in a clear and structured way.","fullyFundedDate":1767116811190,"projectUrl":"project/a-clear-view-for-every-learner/9947637/","projectTitle":"A Clear View for Every Learner","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Jerman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10314744"},{"teacherId":6450676,"projectId":9666965,"letterContent":"We are now using the flexible seating throughout the day—during reading groups, independent work, and social-emotional lessons. They were excited and some of them grossed out when I said we had some bugs to observe and takes notes on. We compared how they moved in the sun versus what happened when they were in the shade or not getting the power they needed. We discussed the different things on Earth that rely on the Sun for survival and how important it is for all of us.\r\n\r\nOur expansion on this will be to talk about solar energy and how on a larger scale we can use that to create energy for our home.
