Because of your donations, my students have been able to use a number of new resources to help further their education. I work with special education students, so providing them with the extra supports that they need is a crucial part of their success. \r\nOne of the main ways my students and I are using the resources is during our social skills lessons. Some of the resources I received included books with a variety of social stories, a coping strategy chart, fidgets, and flexible seating. One of the main areas we focus on is what to do when we feel strong emotions. Through stories and practice, my students are learning how to appropriately cope with their emotions. Having other tools available such as flexible seating and fidgets can also help them remain calm. At my school, we always strive for inclusion within this classroom, and these resources have played a role in allowing for my students to be successful with their peers. \r\nMy students were very excited when they received their new materials.
