Because of you, our music room now has Boomwhackers, rhythm sticks, and materials for writing down musical ideas. The clipboards have been especially helpful for our third and fourth grade students as they practice interpreting and writing rhythmic notation, making important connections between what they see, hear, and play.\r\n\r\nThe Boomwhackers and rhythm sticks have opened up exciting new learning opportunities for our younger students as well. Second graders are learning to read simple sheet music, play songs together, and even improvise their own musical parts. These instruments have been a huge hit with students in all of our classes, and it has been incredibly rewarding to see them working together, building confidence, and growing as musicians. The new furniture and materials are making a daily difference for my students.\r\n\r\nWe are using the storage furniture, bookshelves, and organizing boxes every day to keep our materials and books accessible and well-organized. Students now know exactly where to find what they need and how to take responsibility for returning materials. This has helped create a calmer classroom environment and has increased students' independence. One specific moment that stood out was seeing students confidently set up their own workstations for a project without needing constant guidance.\r\n\r\nThe STEM materials have been especially exciting for students. During hands-on activities, students worked in small groups to build, test, and problem-solve together. These materials have supported collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity, and they have been especially helpful for students who learn best by doing.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the new materials, they were thrilled. They immediately noticed how the classroom looked more welcoming and functional. Many students were eager to explore the STEM materials and proudly helped organize the books and supplies, showing a strong sense of ownership in their classroom.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, donors were able to get a glimpse into our classroom as it became a more organized and engaging place to learn. Your support has gone beyond supplies—it has helped build responsibility, confidence, and excitement for learning.\r\nThank you for investing in our classroom and in the success of our students. Your support has made a lasting and meaningful impact.","fullyFundedDate":1762265307627,"projectUrl":"project/building-our-multilingual-classroom-from/9689906/","projectTitle":"Building Our Multilingual Classroom from the Ground Up","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Primavera Rodriguez Reyes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10244596"},{"teacherId":10244596,"projectId":9689893,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our classroom has become a more engaging, organized, and joyful learning environment. The new resources are being used daily across subjects to support hands-on learning, collaboration, and student motivation.\r\n\r\nWe are using the laminating sheets to create durable learning tools such as math centers, reusable worksheets, and task cards. Students especially enjoy using laminated activities with dry-erase markers, which allows them to practice skills without fear of making mistakes. One memorable moment was during math centers, when students worked together using dice and Connect 4 to practice addition and strategic thinking—learning while having fun.\r\n\r\nThe educational games and manipulatives have had an immediate positive impact. When students first saw the materials, their faces lit up with excitement. They were eager to explore the Operation game, building blocks, and Play-Doh tools. Several students exclaimed that it felt \"like a game day every day.\" The USA floor puzzle quickly became a favorite, as students worked together on the floor to identify states and discuss geography, building both academic knowledge and teamwork skills.\r\n\r\nThese materials have also helped improve student behavior and engagement. Students are more focused, motivated, and willing to participate, especially those who benefit from hands-on and visual learning experiences.\r\n\r\nOur next steps include, expanding math centers with dice-based games, and incorporating the buzzers into review games to build confidence and excitement during lessons. We also plan to create more reusable learning stations with the laminator to support small-group instruction throughout the year.\r\n\r\nYour support has truly transformed our classroom and enriched our students' learning experiences. Thank you for giving our students tools that inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning.","fullyFundedDate":1762267675891,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-learning-games-and-materials/9689893/","projectTitle":"Hands-On Learning: Games and Materials","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Primavera Rodriguez Reyes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10244596"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_134457","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":null,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":37,"percentWhite":18,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":11,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":false,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":61.5,"schoolId":134457,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Ypsilanti Puentes Multilingual School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Ypsilanti Puentes Multilingual School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/michigan/ypsilanti-community-school-district/ypsilanti-puentes-multilingual-school/134457"}
