My fourth grade students were extra excited when I told them they would get to help decorate the drumsticks with colorful tape. Decorating their sticks gives every student a sense of ownership and pride before they play a single beat, and they are already counting down the days until we start drumming together.\r\n\r\nThe sound-canceling headphones have made a difference I didn't fully expect. Music class can be overwhelming for students who are sensitive to sound, and the many instruments that we play in class can be loud! Now students from many grade levels can wear headphones when they need them, which lets them stay in the room, take part, and enjoy making music with their classmates instead of feeling they have to step away. Your gift has made music class a more welcoming and accessible place for every learner.\r\n\r\nThe two bucket drumming books, with their teaching ideas, lessons, and song arrangements, have also changed how I teach. They sparked new ideas for bringing bucket drums into more of my classes, and they helped me design a \"Road to Bucket Drumming\" framework that builds students' rhythm reading, technique, and teamwork step by step until they're ready to play as a full ensemble. When they first saw the Bridge Wall, they were excited to see both of their languages represented in such a clear and colorful way.\r\n\r\nThe Bridge Wall has become a valuable part of our classroom during reading, writing, and vocabulary activities. As we continue learning, they will keep using the wall to strengthen their bilingual reading and writing skills. As we continue our bilingual lessons, these dictionaries will help students expand their vocabulary, make connections between Spanish and English, and develop greater independence as bilingual readers and writers.
