Students in my school are required to complete two reading lessons per week using a program called \"I-ready\". It was getting very hard for them to complete these lessons with our classroom computers because they were spending most of their time waiting for the program to load.\r\n\r\nI-ready is a fantastic program that uses a placement test to put students on a path that is at their own individual reading level. This is so important because students are all at different reading levels and this program helps individualize their instruction. When students are getting lessons at the appropriate level for them it helps them feel successful and helps avoid frustration.\r\n\r\nThe students I work with are delighted with the new computers. They are able to log in much faster and are not getting kicked off like they used to. These computers have made a world of difference and we are so very grateful to all of our donors. For many of my students, especially those who benefit from extra support or need a quieter learning space, this has been a game-changer.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has helped create a classroom where every student can thrive. My students are so much more eager to learn when they have engaging tools in front of them, and the resources have created a fun, hands-on atmosphere that keeps them excited about coming to school each day. These materials make lessons more interactive and allow students to explore concepts in a way that feels more like play, which is especially important at this age. Having access to these resources truly helps foster creativity, collaboration, and a love of learning.\r\n\r\nWhen the supplies first arrived, my students were so excited—they couldn't wait to dive in and start using everything! One of the first projects we did was a math activity where students used manipulatives and learning games to practice addition and subtraction. Instead of seeing it as just \"work,\" the students treated it like a challenge or puzzle and encouraged each other along the way. It was amazing to watch how engaged they were and how much joy they found in learning.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are continuing to use these resources in small groups and during whole-class lessons to build skills in math, reading, and writing. The students are becoming more confident and independent learners, and the materials will continue to support them as we take on new units and projects this year. These tools are not only helping them master important academic skills but are also creating wonderful classroom moments where learning feels exciting and fun.","fullyFundedDate":1755974176833,"projectUrl":"project/headphones-hands-on-learning-and-happy/9582279/","projectTitle":"Headphones, Hands-On Learning, and Happy Kids","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McKenna","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8615834_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754463134167","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/lauren-mckenna"},{"teacherId":8615834,"projectId":9529351,"letterContent":"The new morning bins have been such a wonderful addition to our classroom and have truly transformed our mornings. Instead of rushing in and waiting for the day to start, my students now come in excited and ready to learn right away. The bins are filled with engaging activities that spark curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving, and they set a positive tone for the entire day. By giving students choices and hands-on ways to practice important skills, the bins help foster a love of learning and create a fun, welcoming atmosphere.\r\n\r\nWhen the morning bins were first introduced, the students' faces lit up with excitement. They couldn't wait to explore the different activities and quickly began collaborating, sharing ideas, and challenging themselves in new ways. It was so special to see them dive right in and take ownership of their learning from the very start of the day. The bins have not only made mornings smoother but have also become something my students look forward to daily.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we will continue to rotate and refresh the activities in the bins so that students remain challenged and engaged. These bins will support our current lessons in math, reading, and writing, while also giving students opportunities to be creative and think critically. They are helping build independence, confidence, and joy in learning—and I can already see how much they are making a difference in my students' growth.","fullyFundedDate":1754751355013,"projectUrl":"project/starting-our-day-the-soft-way-morning-b/9529351/","projectTitle":"Starting Our Day the Soft Way: Morning Bins","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McKenna","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8615834_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754463134167","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/lauren-mckenna"},{"teacherId":9707614,"projectId":8705193,"letterContent":"I wanted to say thank you, I'm behalf of myself and all the students that are using the room to be able to meditate, and have a break from their day today\r\n\r\nThe students will come down they'll be able to be in a calm environment, where they learn to reset, and use the space if you're having any sensory needs, or if they just need a place to reset.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart I want to thank you so much for your donations and helping this project come to life.
