I am extremely grateful for those that were able to give and help us fund our project. The kiddos were excited to start taking turns using the chair and fuzzy rug throughout the day - it was also nice to be able to re-stuff our classroom bean bag that desperately needed it. I cannot believe that we raised the money for these items so quickly. It's truly a testament to the amazing families that I have the privilege to work with this school year, as well as the strangers who didn't even know our faces but were willing to give!\r\n The barrel chair and fuzzy rug have allowed more students to have a fun place to sit each day and read their books. Every day they beg to use the chair and rug and I have to keep a list of names so that everyone gets an equal amount of turns each week! These two items have added so much daily joy and comfort to my classroom!\r\n As adults, we know that reading opens up a whole new world full of adventure, imagination and learning! I remember as a kid, getting the chance to get away from my desk and into the comfy reading corner was one of the best parts of the day. These items are used every SINGLE day. My students who are learning how to use their words are using their words to ask for help. They will go over to where we keep the Tonie Box and independently start using it. We even use a communication device to communicate what character we want.\r\n\r\nMy students were so excited when I would bring in a box or package to open. They all had big smiles on their faces.\r\n\r\nThese characters keep my students engaged throughout the day. My students absolutely love sitting in them at reading groups. It gives them an opportunity to sit on different chairs then their hard ones at their desks. These are nice foam chairs and very comfy. \r\n\r\nThey were so excited to open the boxes. They were all trying to predict the colors of each one before we opened it. I explained that people all around donated these for our classroom. They thought that was so cool that people that we don't even know, care about them.\r\n\r\nThese chairs are at my reading table and then the extra one is used for the student of the day.
