Unfortunately I was not able to get the project up and running this school year. The feeder that I received worked great and immediately birds found it and it was fun to watch but then the squirrels came. When I checked the feeder the squirrels had began to chew through the bamboo and plexiglass glass to get to the feed. I was so disappointed. Luckily, I contacted Birdfy and they agreed to replace the feeder at no cost. After not hearing anything for a few months I reached out and was told that they were on back order until spring. I did recently receive the second feeder but with school almost out for the summer I have decided to wait to set it up for the fall. I have also purchased a pole and some baffles which will hopefully solve the squirrel problem. I did not know they would chew through wood like that!\r\nI am happy to let you know that our tech guys were able to help me figure out how to stream the feed and I look forward to sharing that with students when school resumes. My plans are for the activity they see to inspire some artwork of birds and nature in general. It will also be nice to have a glimpse of the outdoors since we are in an interior classroom with no windows.\r\nThank you again for your generosity. I apologize that I was not able to bring this idea to life this year but I am looking forward to implementing it in the fall.","fullyFundedDate":1728067033774,"projectUrl":"project/birds-eye-view-observing-nature-from-t/8466515/","projectTitle":"Bird’s Eye View: Observing Nature from the Classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. White","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2288816_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1658848449162","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2288816"},{"teacherId":9928944,"projectId":9125399,"letterContent":"We have been enjoying our new flexible seating for the past few weeks now and it has truly changed our classroom community. Many students are excited to come to class and even rush from their last class to come and get a flexible seating option. Allowing students the option to stand at the high top table or rock the rocking chairs has improved focus during instructional time as they are able to have a non-distracting physical outlet. Many students have expressed how have the high top table also helps them see the board from the back of the classroom. The flexible seating has also impacted are classroom environment by creating a more welcoming space. When students feel comfortable in their learning environment they learn better. I can see this in action when student's are able to take notes while on the couch.\r\n\r\nOur classroom has been able to foster a true sense of community and togetherness through these pieces of furniture. We have had so many great memories already and I'm certain student's top come will also appreciate these additions to our room.
