Thanks to your kindness, we are now able to provide a warm, comforting space where our students can come together and connect. You helped us start this center, and we will continue to build on it for years to come. \r\n\r\nNot only is our new center a place to connect, it's also a place to make new friends, improve social skills, and is often used for our students who need a place to take a break or de-escalate. \r\n\r\nOur journalism class just wrote an article about the changes in our library, and this is what they included: \r\nThere is a creativity center that is funded through grants that replaces the library computer lab. This space can be used during seminar hours. There will also be special pop-up sessions where students can sign up and join. Sessions include virtual author visits, button-making sessions, and sticker-making with a Cricut machine. \r\n\r\nAgain, thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. My students have used the new options every single day since we received them. The standing desks have been very helpful for my students with diverse learning needs, especially those that benefit from physical stimulation. Students don't have to ask permission to use flexible seating, and my students who benefit from the standing desks come right in at the beginning of the hour, roll them to where they want to be for the day, adjust the height, and get ready to work. They have commented numerous times about how being able to use the standing desks improves their focus in class, and I have definitely seen an improvement in productivity and quality of work as well as in overall engagement. The lap desks have also been a fan favorite, because they help make other forms of flexible seating that I already had, like my two person folding couch, more conducive to writing. Students also use them when working out in the hallway, which is nice for my students who get overstimulated and need some time away from the class. The floor chairs and cushion are frequently in use also, and the portable nature of everything in the grant allows students to easily move it in order to switch between individual and collaborative work in class. Your donation has transformed our classroom environment and made a lasting impact on our students' well-being. Your contribution of books on mental health, a comfy chair, geometric manipulatives, folders, pencils, Clorox wipes, and sticky notes have already made a significant difference in the lives of my students.\r\n\r\nThe books on mental health are invaluable in creating a supportive environment where students can learn about their well-being and develop healthier coping strategies. The comfy chair provides a much-needed space for relaxation, encouraging a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for learning. The geometric manipulatives are engaging students in hands-on learning, helping them visualize and understand mathematical concepts in a more meaningful way, especially those with ASD who struggle with the abstract concepts in Geometry.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, the folders, pencils, Clorox wipes, and sticky notes are everyday essentials that keep our classroom running smoothly and ensure that we maintain a clean and organized space for learning. You wouldn't believe how many folders and pencils we go through each marking period! Your kindness and thoughtfulness have truly enriched our classroom, and it helps to tear down barriers of material things that can keep students from experience academic success.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for your generosity. Your donation is a wonderful reminder of the positive impact that a caring community can have on the educational experience. Our teenagers have LOVED the new chair addition as a place to unwind and decompress. They benefit from flexible seating so much since they sit in the same chairs in every class. This area has provided them a place to feel safe and more relaxed. We've had to set up a way to take turns since the seating area is so popular. The math manipulatives have really helped out students with Autism become more confident in 3D shapes. This has caused them a lot of stress in the past because a 2D shape on paper is really hard to see literally. We use the shapes quite often for any student. \r\nAgain, thank you very very much for considering our students and helping to meet their needs.
