My students are loving the new ChompSaw and are creating several projects with it.\r\n\r\nCurrently, we are working on Buildings at the North Pole. They first drew a building that they feel would be at the North Pole. Now, we are building them out of cardboard and tape. Our last step will be to decorate it as festively as we can.\r\n\r\nIt has been so fun to watch the students using the saw! This includes cubes for holding seeds and light-blocking caps that dramatically reduce algae growth. Not only has this allowed us to fine-tune our system, but we've also extended the benefits to other classrooms. We have provided parts at no extra cost and significantly trimmed operating expenses for several other classrooms.\r\n\r\nWe have also printed manipulative models such as plant cells, animal cells, and DNA. These tactile tools make complex scientific concepts more alive in the classroom. Additionally, printed items were featured in the school raffle, where they became popular prizes, enhancing school spirit.\r\n\r\nThe upcoming school year promises to be even more transformational. Students will have more time to develop software skills and learn to create original designs.","fullyFundedDate":1744723889513,"projectUrl":"project/3d-printing-in-the-name-of-science/9249927/","projectTitle":"3d Printing in the Name of Science!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kuntz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9995559_orig.jpg?crop=480,480,x0,y80&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1744223469441","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9995559"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_66708","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":510,"numTeachers":32,"percentFrplEligible":83,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":9,"percentWhite":67,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":12,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"15.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":73.7,"schoolId":66708,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Ring Lardner Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Ring Lardner Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/michigan/niles-community-school-district/ring-lardner-middle-school/66708"}
