It is a wonderful addition to our classroom and students were so excited to be introduced to it's purpose and contents. We have some flexible seating with the floor cushions and the bench purchased with donor funds. We have a GREAT student friendly place to store our curriculum decodable readers that we use every day. As this crew of students develop more and more independence with their classroom routines they will be using this space more and more. We are looking forward to our first book fair so more books can be added to the shelves. \r\n\r\nThank you again for your support and generosity to our classroom and my students. The new math and reading materials have transformed the way my students engage with learning. We use them daily, especially the phonics games. My students were so excited to explore our new learning games and activities. I've seen a real boost in confidence, especially from students who were previously hesitant to participate in reading activities.\r\n\r\nIn math, the manipulatives have helped my students grasp abstract concepts in a concrete way. For example, during a lesson on measurement, students used unifix cubes to measure how long their foot was. They had so much fun exploring units of measurement.\r\n\r\n\r\nMy students' eyes lit up as we unpacked all the gifts we received. There were lots of \"oohs\" and \"aahs,\" and some couldn't wait to dive into the materials right away. Their enthusiasm has only grown since, and I've noticed a greater sense of ownership and excitement during lessons.","fullyFundedDate":1734099411002,"projectUrl":"project/tools-for-success-empowering-interventi/8999711/","projectTitle":"Tools for Success: Empowering Intervention Students with Reading/Math Manipulatives","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Takessian","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3839429_orig.jpg?crop=1415,1415,x0,y221&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1733852260138","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-takessian"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_31815","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":152,"numTeachers":15,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":58,"percentWhite":28,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":9,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 1","studentTeacherRatio":"10.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":72.4,"schoolId":31815,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about American Montessori Academy - Lower on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"American Montessori Academy - Lower","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/michigan/michigan-department-of-education/american-montessori-academy/31815"}
