Students were excited that the black stools would replace the older stools with torn seat padding. As I opened the colorful cushions, I heard students commenting about the different colors and which ones were their favorite. The cushions that resembled logs created a lot of excitement in our classroom. Some comments made were: \"They look like the real thing, \"These are so soft,\" and \"I can't wait until we can use them.\"\r\n\r\nWe developed expectations for when cushions and stools are being used. I am very proud that the students came up with the following rules:\r\n1. Take turns\r\n2. The color doesn't matter\r\n3. No twirling, throwing, writing on, or poking the cushions\r\n4. All legs of the stool should be on the floor\r\n5. Sit on your bottom\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity. With the equipment, we were able to set up a bowling alley right in our gym. Some of our elementary students had been bowling before, but I was surprised how many had not. On Friday we put all of our skills together and did glow in the dark bowling. We had music, black lights, glow necklaces, and tape that made the pins and balls glow. She has several moments throughout the day during which she 'just needs a break.'
