We have opened the library and it is now a much more inviting space. The students are enjoying the use of the library, which has not been operational in almost a decade. It is a space they very much deserve that is clean and bright. Thanks to you we have a working clock now, that we did not before. We have used the rotating shelves to highlight books that are seasonally featured. We have used the acrylic frames to highlight different cultures based on the heritage awareness months. These displays have enhanced interest in the different cultures and featured titles. We use the dry erase markers for fun signage as well as instruction on our whiteboards. The students get very excited when they see the new displays each month which keeps things fresh and exciting.","fullyFundedDate":1755892921660,"projectUrl":"project/enhancing-literacy-by-beautifying-our-li/9606685/","projectTitle":"Enhancing Literacy By Beautifying Our Library","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Shultz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10024015_orig.jpg?crop=480,480,x0,y84&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755298698204","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10024015"},{"teacherId":9742904,"projectId":9641522,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for you help funding this project! We have been working with the Tech department to create school designs on the cricut to imprint on the bags. We will be using these bags as giveaway prizes for when students check out books. All of the binding supplies are crucial, because even though we talk about book care, we have already received books that have been bruised. We are able to better protect their binding and any pages that may be torn. \r\n\r\nThese items may seen basic, but really add a spark to our program and to the library. Last year a couple teachers and I spent hours, sorting through the books. No nonfiction was prior to 2000 as a publishing date. Many books were old, falling apart, or not appropriate. The walls were red and maroon, a very strange combination. Our chairs were what we believe to be original to the building (celebrating 50 years). \r\nWe raised funds, had drives, repainted, cleaned and cleaned. This fall we have students checking out books for the first time. They are excited to be in the space. It is clean, bright, and welcoming. The stools we received are well loved. The kids go immediately to them to use with their laptops. The chrome on them is so shiny, they really respond to the newness and clean of the look. \r\nThe decoding pens are fascinating to all the students, although it is just a lucky few who have been able to use them, one student sticks out in particular to want to read more with this new technology. It will also help with our English language learners and instructors to communicate. \r\nThank you for helping with our project!","fullyFundedDate":1755039014006,"projectUrl":"project/media-center-reopening/9540300/","projectTitle":"Media Center Reopening","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Shultz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10024015_orig.jpg?crop=480,480,x0,y84&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755298698204","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10024015"},{"teacherId":9742904,"projectId":8764092,"letterContent":"I am thrilled to share how your generous contributions have transformed our classroom and brought new opportunities to my students. Thanks to your support, we now have a full set of linocut printing materials, and it's been a truly exciting experience for everyone involved.\r\n\r\nOne of the most memorable moments was when my students first laid eyes on the linocut tools and materials. Their faces lit up with awe and curiosity. They had never seen anything like it before! I explained how we would be creating our own prints, and immediately, they were eager to dive in. There was a palpable sense of excitement in the room as they tried to comprehend the process: carving designs, applying ink, and making prints. It felt like we were embarking on an adventure together.\r\n\r\nWe've finished working on a project where each student designs and carves their own personal design. It's amazing to watch them pour so much of themselves into their artwork.\r\n\r\nI cannot thank you enough for giving my students the tools to explore their creativity in such a meaningful way.
