The items we received, like portable cushions and wiggle seats, allow my students who need gentle movement to satisfy that sensory need without distracting others, which has significantly improved focus and concentration. For independent work time, the video rockers and stability ball chairs have provided cozy, relaxed options that makes learning feel more inviting. By providing these options to the students in my classes, you have helped us create a space that accommodates diverse learning styles and helps students take ownership of their learning experience.\r\n Beyond individual comfort and focus, flexible seating arrangements have allowed a more collaborative and creative classroom culture. Allowing groups of students different seating options encourages organic interaction and communication that static rows of desks often prevent. The adaptable environment we've created promotes a dynamic learning atmosphere where students feel comfortable sharing ideas and working together. \r\n When students first saw the seating, they were SO excited to help me set everything up and couldn't wait to try them! Students will soon be trying their hand at crocheting. Some of my students who are already skilled at it will be able to lead smaller groups using the various flexible and portable seating, allowing more students to learn. The flexible seating is often used as a reward for those who are consistently Responsible, Respectful, and Safe, encouraging others to do the same.","fullyFundedDate":1754763208941,"projectUrl":"project/creating-cozy/9547021/","projectTitle":"Creating Cozy","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Smith","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10155035_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754511636985","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10155035"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_68619","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":326,"numTeachers":22,"percentFrplEligible":56,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":92,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":5,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"5 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"14.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":81.5,"schoolId":68619,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Leslie Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Leslie Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/michigan/leslie-public-school-district/leslie-middle-school/68619"}
