This resource has been a game-changer for our classroom, especially since our students do not have a physical education class. The Nex Playground has provided them with an engaging way to stay active, reduce anxiety, and manage stress throughout the day.\r\n\r\nThe excitement when our students first saw the Nex Playground was unforgettable—they were amazed and couldn't wait to try it out! We've incorporated it into daily brain breaks and wellness activities, and it has quickly become a favorite part of their routine. One memorable moment was during a recent math lesson: after working hard on problem-solving, students took turns playing a movement-based game on the Nex Playground. It was incredible to see how energized and focused they were afterward.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to integrate the Nex Playground into collaborative projects that combine physical activity with academic goals, such as team-based challenges that reinforce classroom concepts. Your support has opened the door to new possibilities for learning and well-being, and we are so grateful for the positive impact you've made.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us create a healthier, happier learning environment!\r\nWarm regards,","fullyFundedDate":1759513181296,"projectUrl":"project/creating-connections-the-nex-playground/9671627/","projectTitle":"Creating Connections: The Nex Playground for Teen Mental Health","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Vela","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2771870_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1452258215134","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/cvela"},{"teacherId":9807495,"projectId":8887741,"letterContent":"Crossroads students would like to thank you for all the donations to our future scholars at Crossroads. Your support has brought about a significant impact on our classroom environment and the well-being of my students.\r\n\r\nWhen we first unveiled the new resources, the excitement in the room was palpable. One of my students exclaimed, \"It looks so homey in here!\" when they saw the beautiful rug you helped fund. This moment truly captured the essence of what I envisioned—a warm, welcoming, and supportive space where students feel comfortable and safe.\r\n\r\nThe new social-emotional items have become a bulletin board at the front of the classroom and been invaluable in helping students manage their emotions and stress. The snacks have not only provided nourishment but also created a sense of community during our breaks - the students LOVE the food. As you can see from the picture, the rug has become a favorite spot for students to gather, work, and relax. They are definitely making the most of this cozy place.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are excited about the next steps for our classroom. We hope to add some comfortable chairs and side tables to enhance our flexible seating options. This will further promote a conducive learning environment where students can choose the best spot for their individual needs.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has made a world of difference in our classroom, and we are immensely grateful. We can't wait to see the continued positive effects of your support on our students' mental health and learning experiences. Our students in the mornings are using the art supplies to paint on canvas anything from the landscapes to their own artwork that reflects how they feel. It sets the tone for their day and they appreciate this opportunity very much. They also used some of the materials to decorate Christmas ornaments and vases to take home for holidays. Since most of my students come from low income households, this was a wonderful way for them to make holiday presents that could be in many cases impossible for them to afford (see pictures). We plan to use chalk for sidewalk drawings as soon as weather permits too, possibly in early spring.\r\nAs you can see, your generous donation touched many hearts and put smiles on many kids faces, so once again huge THANK YOU!!!","fullyFundedDate":1730168942433,"projectUrl":"project/get-your-mind-right-art-advisory/8907733/","projectTitle":"\"Get Your Mind Right\" Art Advisory","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Beslagic","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9818634"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_63119","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":210,"numTeachers":14,"percentFrplEligible":84,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":43,"percentWhite":23,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":21,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"15.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":74.1,"schoolId":63119,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Crossroads Alternative School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Crossroads Alternative School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/michigan/kentwood-public-school-district/cross-roads-alternative-school/63119"}
