My students use headphones for many purposes at school including listening to books and other texts read aloud, watching instructional videos, completing self-paced learning tasks, practicing phonemic awareness skills (a.k.a. how sounds make up words), and listening to test questions and writing prompts on district and state tests. The headphones you funded help make these things possible!\r\n\r\nI've had cheap earbuds and flimsy headphones provided by the school district in years past. Unfortunately, these inadequate items resulted in students rushing through their work and assessments because they were physically uncomfortable, or students unable to complete assignments when their low-quality headphones simply stopped working. Simple items make a big difference in the course of the day for my students (and for me, their teacher and master troubleshooter!). Having solid, comfortable headphones may seem minor, but it truly makes a significant difference. \r\n\r\nMy work as a public school educator would not be possible without support from family, friends, and community members.
