Having a variety of activities available has also allowed me to better meet the different learning needs and interests of my second graders.\r\n\r\nThe resources have been especially helpful during small-group instruction, centers, and enrichment activities. My students are more engaged when they can learn and practice skills in new and interactive ways, and having access to these materials has given me more opportunities to make that happen.\r\n\r\nThis donation has also been an incredible support for me as a teacher. Having designated spaces for materials has also encouraged students to take greater responsibility for keeping our classroom organized and returning materials where they belong.\r\n\r\nFor me, these supplies have made managing student work, data, curriculum materials, and everyday classroom resources so much easier. Instead of spending time searching for materials or managing clutter, I can spend more time focusing on what matters most—teaching my students.\r\n\r\nThere really is truth to the saying, \"Good order is the foundation of all things.\" A well-organized classroom creates a calmer, more productive learning environment, and I have seen that impact firsthand.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, these materials will continue benefiting students for years to come. While these tools were all instructionally sound, each tool really only offered one way to interact with it, and the novelty of each was already wearing off early on in the year.\r\n\r\nWe introduced these phonics magnetic and dry-erase kits as soon as we received them in late October, and the excitement in using them has not worn off! There are several different ways for the kids to interact with these kits, and it's amazing to see them choose different ways of interacting with them both within as well as across lessons. Furthermore, the kits are more durable than the velcro mats I have, and easier for me to assemble. Finally, introducing a new, multifunctional tool into the mix has actually encouraged some students to try using the other tools sometimes, too, on their own accord, ad they now have enough tools for phonics instruction that they never stay bored with any single tool.","fullyFundedDate":1760035932945,"projectUrl":"project/new-classroom-science-of-reading-magnet/9793121/","projectTitle":"New Classroom: Science of Reading Magnetic Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Ceglarek","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8870189_orig.jpg?crop=705,705,x364,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1759689871632","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mr-peter-teacher"},{"teacherId":8870189,"projectId":9793146,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for purchasing our class the 10-frame magnetic dry-erase boards, and the double-sided 10/20 dry-erase number lines! The timing was perfect, as we just finished learning how to use number lines for addition and subtraction, and were transitioning into using 10-frames. Students were able to compare and contrast the benefits of each tool.\r\n\r\nAfterwards, students were encouraged to use those tools like we do any other math tool -- whenever they have a math problem, they are encouraged to plan which tool would best help them solve the problem, and then grab that tool. It's been fascinating and helpful for me as a teacher to see which students prefer the number line, and which prefer the 10-frame.
