I truly can not thank you enough for this kind donation to our communities art classroom. I just picked up the packages from my mailbox at school and my students are in shock that there are such kind people in the world who donate to make our art world even better. Our next step will be studying human forms and proportions to make wire armatures as well as kinetic mobiles! \r\n\r\nYour donation didn't just bring us tools; it opened the door to a whole new dimension of creativity and critical thinking. Working with wire will allow students to understand spatial awareness, structural support, and even a bit of physics and engineering — all through the lens of art. It also teaches perseverance: when the wire doesn't bend the way they expect, or when a sculpture doesn't stand right away, students problem solve and adjust. These are powerful, real-world skills, and they're learning them in a fun, artistic environment.\r\n\r\nAs a teacher, it means so much to know that there are people like you out there who believe in the value of art education and are willing to invest in our students' potential. Your donation brought joy, excitement, and inspiration to our classroom — not just for one day, but for the entire school year and beyond. These tools will be used in future units, exhibitions, and student-led projects. They will continue to have an impact for years to come.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of all my students and from the bottom of my heart — thank you. Your generosity allows those students to be on a level playing field with the rest of their classmates. \r\n\r\nWe also received some manipulatives (dice) and a large number line for classroom display. Many of our students come to school without the basic tools needed for success in math. A scientific calculator can be a financial burden for some families, but your donation ensures that all students, regardless of their circumstances, have access to the same essential resources as their peers. These calculators will not only help students complete assignments, but they will also allow them to develop confidence in their problem-solving abilities. In math, access is power and you have given our students the tools to unlock their potential.\r\n\r\nThe motivational posters that were donated will do more than decorate our walls. They serve as daily reminders to students that perseverance, growth, and self-belief are as important as equations and formulas. In a subject that many students find intimidating, these words of encouragement will help foster a culture of resilience and hope.\r\n\r\nYour support has a lasting impact that goes beyond a single classroom. It sends a message to our students that their education matters and that their futures are worth investing in. With your help, we are building not just better students, but stronger, more confident individuals. \r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity!","fullyFundedDate":1746627436909,"projectUrl":"project/calculators-and-posters/9249816/","projectTitle":"Calculators and Posters","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. McCarthy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7830867"},{"teacherId":6312669,"projectId":8868353,"letterContent":"One of the best parts about living in a small community is that the ripples of kindness are apparent. Many of my former students now have children in kindergarten who stop to tell me how much their child loved being read to by high school students and were excited to bring their new book home. A kindergarten teacher who brought her daughter to my daughter's birthday party made a point to tell me how much fun her students had the day my students visited. Some of my own students have told me that this project solidified their desire to become elementary teachers because they loved the experience of reading to the kindergarteners. It is all of these things that make this project worthwhile; reading to the kids is important, but the positive associations all of the students can make with books is lasting. Over 200 students have a new book to add to their home library because of generous donors who understand the importance of early literacy.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart, thank you for your generosity in making this project possible. It is important for students (and even adults) to find exercises that keep them interested. We have done some workouts where students see how much weight they can push or pull.
