It makes learning feel exciting and fun, and I can see how much it means to them. They've mentioned how grateful they are that so many people care about their education, and that makes the whole activity feel so much more special. Every time we play, their interest just keeps growing, and I've already started noticing improvements in their writing. It's really awesome to see how something that feels like play is also helping them learn in such a big way. Since receiving the bouncy seat attachments, floor seats, and standing desk, my students have been more focused, comfortable, and excited to learn. We use the seating every day during reading groups, writing time, and independent work periods. One of my favorite moments was watching a group of students huddled on the floor seats during a collaborative science project—completely engaged, taking notes, and discussing their ideas with enthusiasm. The flexible seating options allow students to choose where and how they learn best, which has truly transformed the energy and productivity in our room.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the students' reactions were priceless. Their eyes lit up, and they excitedly took turns trying out each new seat. One student, who often struggled to sit still in a traditional chair, immediately gravitated toward the bouncy seat and said, \"I think I found my new seat to help me focus!\" It was such a joy to see how quickly they appreciated and respected the new tools, knowing they were given with love and support from people who care about their education.\r\n\r\nWith these new seating options in place, our next steps include a creative writing unit where students will be working in flexible spaces around the room to brainstorm, draft, and publish their own stories. The freedom to move and choose their work spot is helping them feel more ownership of their learning. Your contribution gave my students more than just furniture—it gave them a more supportive and inclusive learning environment. While many people use technology daily at home, the way it's used in schools—especially for students who struggle with reading—is incredibly powerful. These headphones are now an essential part of our learning environment. They allow students to use reading apps and tools like text-to-speech software without distractions, giving them the chance to engage with content at their own pace and in a way that builds both confidence and independence. For many of my students, having this technology means the difference between frustration and success.\r\n\r\nWhat has been most exciting for the students is the feeling of ownership and focus the headphones provide. There's a special kind of energy in the room now during our literacy rotations—students eagerly grab their headphones and dive into activities like listening to audiobooks or following along with interactive reading programs. The headphones give them a private, immersive experience that makes learning feel more personal and less intimidating. It's amazing to see them so engaged and motivated.\r\n\r\nOne student in particular, who often avoided reading tasks due to low confidence, now rushes to his laptop with a big smile when it's time to read. With the headphones on, he listens to stories while following the text on-screen, and for the first time, he's beginning to enjoy books AND he can confidently comprehend the story. Another student with attention challenges has shown a marked improvement in focus during reading time, thanks to the noise-reducing benefits. I am tremendoulsy overhwhelmed and honored by all of you making this goal a reality-and in such a short amout of time. My students all knew about the project and they all knew how I was going about trying to make it happen. I would give them updates and they would cheer everytime that a new donation was made. It was such a fun way to include them. One of my students even said to the class-\"someday when I am older and have a job I will do this for a middle school science class too.\" It made me realize that while this was a project about getting supplies, it was also a chance to show community involment and how we can give back.\r\nWhen the boxes came we opened them up together. We were able to work though the parts of a skeleton and they loved it. After having learned about the bones previously it was fun to have them be able to hold them and work through what they were. With the skeletons disarticulated there were a couple moments I had to really think about what some of them were and we were able to problem solve together.\r\nThank you doesn´t seem like it goes far enough but thank you so very much!","fullyFundedDate":1736344553475,"projectUrl":"project/make-no-bones-about-it-we-need-skelet/9029511/","projectTitle":"Make No \"Bones\" About it, We Need Skeletons.","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wilkinson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2597530"},{"teacherId":8687981,"projectId":8876813,"letterContent":"My students are exceptionally grateful for the wiggle seats.
