Seeds have already been started in the small indoor greenhouse and hydroponic planter purchased with your help! Seeds have also started sprouting in the root viewer planters where students can visualize germination and root development, which will be used as the anchoring phenomena for several state science curriculum standards\r\n\r\nIn ELA, students will read and discuss \"Seedfolks\" by Paul Fleishman. Students will remain engaged in reflective and creative writing projects, including personal narratives about growth and community, informational writing about the benefits of fresh foods, and persuasive writing encouraging others to support sustainability and healthy choices. By linking literature to hands on gardening experiences, students will strengthen their reading and writing skills while gaining a deeper appreciation for wellness, teamwork and environmental stewardship. \r\n\r\nWe have also partnered with the Regional Environmental Council (REC) through their UGrow program.
