The whiteboards are a hit! My students have loved using them and I really enjoy seeing my students highly engaged when they are vertically learning. \r\n\r\nWhen the six new whiteboards filled our back wall space, the students were impressed (and it takes a lot to impress a high school student)! I had decorated the new boards to \"match\" the other large boards in the room; each has a magnetic graph board, several heavy duty magnets, markers and a magnetic dry erase towel, along with a few school magnets. The really complete the look and feel of the room. \r\n\r\nWe have used the whiteboards as a way for students to demonstrate math skills, share work and make it easy to help each even \"from afar\" (across the room). Many students have become so comfortable with the boards that they ask to use them to do lots of different assignments, not just \"whiteboard activities\". I think it's great that they do this! In addition, when students are working in their small groups, it makes it much easier to help them work through a problem by moving myself to a whiteboard that's closest to them. \r\n\r\nOne of my classes even volunteered to be observed this week; they were in action at the whiteboards, working in pairs through challenging polynomial problems. It was great to see that my seniors, who will tell you that they \"don't like math\", were willing able and confident enough to put themselves on display. Not only did they do a fantastic job with the activity, but several groups were persistent on finishing \"just one more problem\" and worked through the last period bell! \r\n\r\nSo again, thank you so much for your donation. Although education seems to slowly evolve, I think vertical learning is one that I'll continue to use throughout my career. Thus, I have no doubt that your donation will help to enhance the math journeys of hundreds of students and help inspire others to try vertical learning in their classrooms.","fullyFundedDate":1755610190203,"projectUrl":"project/vertical-learning/9574790/","projectTitle":"Vertical Learning!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Moisan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10168927_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755531864733","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10168927"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_63948","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1779,"numTeachers":144,"percentFrplEligible":17,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":83,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"12.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":88.9,"schoolId":63948,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Wachusett Regional High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Wachusett Regional High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/massachusetts/wachusett-regional-school-district/wachusett-regional-high-school/63948"}
