The old projector was not very bright, and we needed to turn off the lights just so students could read the screen. The font appeared blurry on the screen, too, and students had a difficult time distinguishing between plus and division signs whenever I posted problems on the board. The pen with the original was not calibrated well and was hard to use since what I wrote didn't always show on the screen.\r\n\r\nThe brand-new projector, though, is absolutely amazing! It is so bright, and everything looks crisp and colorful on it. It came with two pens, and the students love being able to write on the board with the pens. When I ask for volunteers to show their thinking to a math problem on the board, everyone's hand goes up eagerly awaiting the opportunity. It's also a favorite activity during indoor recess and saves my dry erase markers from running out of ink now that students draw with the pens instead. Whenever we get the entire sixth grade classroom together to share presentations, we do so in my classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1735657823971,"projectUrl":"project/brightening-math-learning-with-a-new-pro/8730793/","projectTitle":"Brightening Math Learning With a New Projector","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Finnie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7789069"},{"teacherId":8930421,"projectId":9030717,"letterContent":"Dear Donors,\r\n\r\nI am deeply grateful for your generous donation, which has had an incredible impact on my students. Your support is helping me provide them with the tools and resources they need to thrive academically, and I am excited to share how this funding is benefiting their learning experience.\r\n\r\nMany of my students face challenges in accessing the curriculum in traditional ways, and the adapted resources from Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT) that we were able to purchase have made a huge difference. These resources incorporate technology that provides multiple ways of presenting content, allowing my students to engage with the material in ways that make sense to them. Technology has given my students the opportunity to interact with lessons through visual aids, interactive activities, and personalized feedback, all of which cater to their unique learning needs. It's also helping them prepare for standardized tests like MCAS and use programs like Edmark more effectively.\r\n\r\nWhat's most exciting for my students is the ability to interact with content in a more dynamic and personalized way. With these new tools, they can work at their own pace, get instant feedback, and practice skills in a more hands-on, engaging format. The instant access to resources means they don't have to wait for printed materials, and they can get more individualized practice on concepts they need to strengthen.\r\n\r\nParticularly, I've seen some students who previously struggled with engagement and focus really flourish with these new resources. For example, one of my students who often found reading to be challenging is now able to access the Edmark program more independently, with greater confidence and understanding. Another student with ADHD is benefiting from the interactive features that keep them engaged for longer periods, which helps them focus and absorb information more effectively. These students have shown remarkable progress, and I am excited to see them continue to build on their successes.\r\n\r\nThe impact of your donation is tangible, and I am already seeing my students develop greater confidence in their abilities. They are more engaged in their learning, and they feel empowered to tackle new concepts. Your support has provided them with opportunities that will have a lasting effect on their academic journey.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity. Your contribution is truly making a difference in the lives of these students, and I look forward to seeing the continued growth and success they will achieve with the resources you've helped provide.","fullyFundedDate":1736181143887,"projectUrl":"project/diverse-minds-united-goals-supporting/9030717/","projectTitle":"Diverse Minds, United Goals: Supporting Every Student's Journey","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. R","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8930421_orig.png?crop=1024,1024,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746532095853","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/destinyrodriguez"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_60980","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":475,"numTeachers":38,"percentFrplEligible":16,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":88,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"12.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":95.1,"schoolId":60980,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about William E Norris Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"William E Norris Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/massachusetts/supervisory-union-66/william-e-norris-elementary-school/60980"}
