Thanks to your support, we now have a beautiful, colorful space that features both the letters of the alphabet and numbers 1–20—something we use every single day!\r\nThis rug has quickly become the heart of our classroom. Whether we're gathered for circle time, stretching during yoga, enjoying read-alouds, playing educational games, or moving to our favorite songs, the rug brings us together in an engaging, comfortable, and organized space. It's more than just a rug—it's a learning tool that supports spatial awareness, letter recognition, and number familiarity in a fun and meaningful way.\r\nSeeing the children light up as they find their assigned letter or count their way to a favorite number spot has been such a joy. The letters and numbers on our preschool rug play an important role in helping children learn where their designated space is during group activities, which greatly supports classroom management. Every time we go to the rug, I give each child an assigned letter or number to sit on, giving them a clear, consistent spot that fosters a sense of ownership and routine. It's already made a big difference in their learning and classroom experience. \r\nWe also recently did a literacy activity using our rug. Students were given a picture or letter and they had to identify what letter it was or what letter the picture began with and place it on the corresponding letter on the rug. As for the number spaces on the rug, children were asked to choose a number and then put that many pumpkins on that space. The students LOVED these activities. \r\nOn top of everything else, our rug doubles as our Block Area during center time/play time. The size of the rug allows children ample space to play while also giving them a clear boundary of their play space. \r\nThank you again for investing in our students. Your kindness and support are helping to build a strong educational foundation—and it means the world to us.","fullyFundedDate":1752915636204,"projectUrl":"project/carpet-diem-seize-the-rug/9239179/","projectTitle":"Carpet Diem: Seize the Rug!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Pham","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9992788"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_47332","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":247,"numTeachers":20,"percentFrplEligible":75,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":78,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":11,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"12.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":85.7,"schoolId":47332,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about East Brookfield Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"East Brookfield Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/massachusetts/spencer-east-brookfield-reg-sd/east-brookfield-elementary-school/47332"}
