Teaching the next generation how to use computers and computer programs will be crucial to their success as adults in today's world. Quincy provides 1-1 Chromebooks for all students grades 3 and above. Unfortunately, Kindergarten through second grade have to share a small amount. This set of Chromebooks in our classroom allows students immediate access to what they need. \r\n\r\n Quincy pays for many online programs that require student access to Chromebooks. Two of the most notable are Lexia and ST Math. Lexia is a reading program that helps students build foundational skills. This is especially helpful for students who struggle, and for our English Language Learners. ST Math is \"a PreK-8 visual instructional program that leverages spatial-temporal reasoning to teach math concepts through interactive, game-based puzzles\". \r\n\r\nStudents get very excited to use these programs. Our school does challenges and provides incentives to keep students moving forward in these programs. These Chromebooks have allowed all Room 4 students access to what they need.
