Your support has brought meaningful, high-impact tools into our first-grade classroom—desk name plates with built-in visuals and individual desk partitions (\"offices\")—and I cannot thank you enough for believing in my students and in the environment I strive to create for them.\r\n\r\nIn first grade, visual supports are not simply helpful; they are essential. Many young learners need consistent, accessible reminders to support reading, writing, math, and daily routines. Traditional visual posters can be overwhelming or difficult for children to refer to in the moment, especially in a busy classroom. Before receiving these materials, I often saw students struggle to remember a letter sound, how to form a number, or the steps to solve a problem. They would look around the room for help, lose their place, or feel embarrassed asking repeatedly. The desk name plates you helped provide have completely changed that dynamic. Now, every student has personal, clean, uncluttered access to the tools they need—right in front of them, all day long.\r\n\r\nThese name plates include visuals for letter formation, number lines, shapes, place value, sight words, and more. Having these supports right on their desks builds independence, confidence, and fluency. I have already seen students rely more on themselves rather than waiting for adult prompts. They glance down, use the visual, and keep moving forward. It is such a joy to witness that small but powerful moment when a child realizes, \"I can figure this out on my own.\" That sense of capability is a gift you helped give them.\r\n\r\nThe desk partitions—our little \"offices\"—have also made an enormous difference. In any classroom, especially a first-grade one, students sometimes need a quiet space, a bit of privacy, or a personal boundary to help them focus. Whether they are taking a test, completing writing assignments, regaining focus after an overstimulating moment, or simply needing a calmer workspace, these partitions allow them to create that private space instantly and without disruption. For some of my students, this is a game-changer. I have already observed students choosing to use a desk partition independently when they feel overwhelmed or distracted. That self-advocacy and self-regulation is exactly what we hope to nurture, and your donation makes tools like this accessible to every learner—not just a few.\r\n\r\nYour contribution does far more than provide classroom supplies. It directly affects how children experience learning. It helps them feel capable, supported, and successful. It helps them understand that there are people in the world—people they have never met—who believe in their potential and care about their education. In a time when teachers and students face so many challenges, your kindness reminds us that we are not alone.\r\n\r\nThank you for your generosity, your belief in public education, and your desire to help young learners grow. Because of you, my students have a more structured, supportive environment that truly meets their needs. These tools will benefit not only this current group of children but many future classes for years to come. I am profoundly grateful for your support, and so are my students, who proudly use their new tools every day.\r\n\r\nWith heartfelt appreciation,","fullyFundedDate":1755792214541,"projectUrl":"project/first-grade-class-supplies/9596030/","projectTitle":"First Grade Class Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Campbell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9750048"},{"teacherId":10032910,"projectId":9346907,"letterContent":"I'll do my best to put into words just how impactful the flexible seating has been in my sixth grade ELA classroom!\r\nWhen the packages arrived, my students were filled with curiosity and excitement. They asked all kinds of questions—Who would get to use the new seating? Would they need to earn the privilege? How often could they use it? From that moment, they were immediately engaged.\r\nWe've established a rotating daily schedule to ensure that every student has the opportunity to choose flexible seating if they wish. No one has to \"earn\" the right to use it—it's available to all students from the start of class, regardless of the day's lesson.\r\nI've noticed a real difference, especially with students who are typically fidgety or restless. With the stools, cushions, and bean bags, they seem more focused, comfortable, and at ease. It's incredible how something as simple as a seating option can have such a positive effect on student engagement and learning.\r\nNone of this would have been possible without your generosity. Please know that you've made a meaningful impact on my students' education—and their overall well-being.
