They quickly made it part of our routine—sitting together for morning meetings, listening to read-alouds, and working in small groups. Having a defined space makes transitions smoother and helps everyone settle in more quickly.\r\n\r\nThe rug has also become a learning tool. Because it's a giant world map, we've already used it to practice locating the continents and talking about places we read about in books. For my students with sensory needs, the soft surface helps them stay comfortable and engaged, while for the whole class, it gives us a common spot to focus and learn together.\r\n\r\nThis project may seem simple, but it's had a real impact on our classroom. When the wire shelf, grow lights, and boot trays arrived, my students were absolutely buzzing with excitement. They helped unpack every item with care and couldn't wait to decide which plants would go where. One student said, \"It's like we're running a plant hospital AND a jungle!\"\r\n\r\nWe've been using the space to care for a variety of plants, learn about their needs, and take on rotating \"Plant Crew\" roles like Water Warrior and Leaf Librarian. The grow lights allow us to keep our plants thriving even without direct sunlight, and the boot trays protect our classroom floors—because yes, 3rd grade enthusiasm sometimes means a little extra water.\r\n\r\nThis space has quickly become a favorite part of our day. Students calm down while misting the leaves or checking soil, and it's sparked so many science conversations—everything from plant adaptations to photosynthesis to humidity levels. We'll continue observing growth, tracking plant progress, and using our corner to learn about ecosystems all year long!","fullyFundedDate":1746442599292,"projectUrl":"project/growing-minds-our-classroom-plant-corne/9286501/","projectTitle":"Growing Minds: Our Classroom Plant Corner","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Graham","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2022669_orig.jpg?crop=1729,1729,x424,y1219&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1733413391819","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/missmcallister"},{"teacherId":2022669,"projectId":8991520,"letterContent":"I just had to send a little update now that your amazing donation has made its way into our classroom—and wow, what a difference it's made!\r\n\r\nThe day those stackable stools arrived felt like a mini holiday. Third graders have big feelings about everything, and let me tell you—choosing a favorite color and testing out the stacking situation was basically a full-blown event. There was joyful chaos, giggles, and lots of \"dibs!\" But beyond the fun, these stools have genuinely shifted how we function day-to-day.\r\n\r\nThey're now a staple at both of our teacher tables, and they've made math and ELA center time run so much more smoothly. It's way easier to pull kids for small group or one-on-one time without disrupting the flow. The flexibility has been a total game-changer. And during indoor recess? Total win. The kids set them up in a circle and \r\ntoss a soft ball around—it's such a simple thing, but it's built this lovely little sense \r\nof connection and gives them a chance to reset.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has truly made a lasting impact.
